Is there nobody professional at Oakwell? Amateurish from top to bottom. Whoever wrote that article and chose to criticise his performances should be thoroughly ashamed. I can only assume it was written under direction of the higher ups
It is horse manure. Killian has played as well as anyone else this season & a lot better than Ritzmare.
I think the 21 word statement may have gone down better than this BS. So seriously out of touch with the fan base.
I'll happily stand corrected later but atm I'm not convinced we didn't have a choice. I think it's entirely possible that a) Kilian had a change of mind as a result of Struber's impending departure and expressed a desire to leave (and we know our owners don't like any criticism) and b) we weren't inclined to try to persuade him otherwise because he was a Struber recruit. Possibly similar with Ritzmaier?
The problem with our club at times, is that it can be too spreadsheet based. Stats might show Ludewig as inconsistent this season, but to the eye, he wasn’t.
Imagine the press conference question if Struber was to stay... "So Gerhard, Ludewig is leaving with the statement saying he wasn't consistent enough. Was his leaving a decision you made after he was a key part of your team or was that out of your hands?"
They aren’t in their division - he was at Salzburg (Austria), he’s gone to Schalke in Germany. There may be something in what you’ve said other than that, though to be honest I doubt it. How much are we going to have pissed off the RB group? ‘Hello, Dane, we’d like your manager’. ‘Ok, no worries, he has a release clause, €2million, pay that and he’s yours.’ ‘Actually, no, we’d like to offer 28p, a Razzle from 1986 and a toffee crisp’ ‘Can we have a 15% sell on? We’d like to retain an interest in his future’ ‘Er, ok’ ‘I’ll book his flight. The release fee has to be undisclosed though as otherwise everyone will know how tinpot we are’ ‘No worries. Hey, I hear your bosses are worth £7billion?’ ‘’ ‘Thought so’
I had it in my mind it was Leipzig for some reason, but my mistake.. I think we could easily upset a larger group that doesn't immediately get its way when trying to haggle over money. You only have to look at our owners as a prime example ;-)
One of the most un-Chief Executive-ly statements I've ever read. Not in my name Dane and please urgently consider your position.
Not good enough for our relegation threatened second tier club as a loan signing, but good enough to be bought by one of the biggest top flight clubs in one of the best leagues in Europe.
All the best for the future, Killian. You were a credit to the club, your family and yourself. To come to another club in a foreign country at a young age, yet play with such commitment, passion and honesty was a joy to behold. Thank you so much and sad as I am that you've left, I'll take great pleasure in watching your career progress.
