One this occasion, wouldn’t it have been nice if the statement just said
‘TBH we feel crapped on and as far as we are concerned , he can do one! ‘

Why I could see a mile off after the windass header we had over achieved and could possibly lose players and manager. I waited to buy a season ticket. There's still a possibility I will I'll almost certainly be at the port Vale home game. But its over to kahled and Co weather that's a pay on the day or a season ticket. Managers and players come and go it is what it is.

I don't either. I just see absolutely no need for the statement. It's adding insult to injury. His earlier words proved to be meaningless. To follow it up with further words that provide absolute confirmation of that, is just taking the pi$$ for me. Whether it's intentional or not. Ending with You Reds just makes my blood boil. Those two words mean something to me. Just throwing them in at the end angers me. IMO the Club shouldn't have allowed that statement to go out to fans. If he had anything to say, he should have said it through his own channels.

I always expect our successful managers and players to move on and always wish them well. But I genuinely believed Duff when he said he was here long term, fully committed to the project, not fly by night etc. He must have known he would get offers if he did well. He has jumped ship at the first opportunity. And this statement he was allowed to write makes me want to vomit. I’ve been gutted when other managers left but this one has made me angry. Val, it was inevitable and I wanted him to do well. I understood stendel wanting out with Conway in charge. I was never on the Wilson is a Judas when he went to Wednesday band wagon as it was his old club. Duff broke his word simple as. I would absolutely love it if he fails and ends up back in league one.

Very similar to me that. I'm out if the habit and very removed from it all emotionally.

TBH as gutted as I was, I understood Clarke as he was kind of going ‘home’ to a bigger club that had been a big part of his career where he was idolised.
This guy just appalls me now as I have said before a manager should have a minimum of two years tenure.

It might well be, if you can swallow the line that "this decision was not money-orientated."

His "taking stock in the summer" might mean he'd been told by the club that certain players would need to be sold, not be adequately replaced and he'd concluded that if he stayed he might well end up with his ambitions well and truly thwarted. His "stock" might well have fallen in a new moderate season with us.

What was "in their power" to provide might not have been enough for his "ambitious character".

So this was his "opportunity" . To get out. And keep his ambition intact. Not "money-orientated" at all, of course.

Unfortunately, we've had plenty of practice to get these right. Whoever writes next seasons will probably get a Pulitzer...

I'm looking forward now, old mate. Neerav has stated that the search for a new Head Coach is well underway. Hopefully, that means we won't have to wait too long for the new appointment.

I tend to agree with you. I'm not hugely excited by the prospect of Devaney taking over but he probably wouldn't be able to command one so maybe that's the route we should go down.

Thank you Michael Duff. You joined us in a mess and you were responsible for putting some respect back into our club and my belief in what used to be our club.
His only crime was his statements saying he was here for the long term etc.I wish him well and hope he continues his progression.
He has left us for a bigger club with more potential and more importantly a better wage.
I have learned over the years not to be too emotive with what players and coaches say...and this is the reason I'm not too shocked or offended by the loss.
I just hope our suits get the next coach right...something like our last one will do me....for however short a term it may be.

I actually think he surprised himself as to how his first season worked out, certainly not play off finalists and saw us as a project to work on. ..which may have been his thinking.
Mid table no one would have given him a second thought.

With no clause the club don’t even have to inform the manager though, just reject it.
