Michael Duff: Positive front foot, high pressing football. Entertaining. Given glowing reviews by fans for his entertaining side - 80 goals in 46 games. Neil Collins: "Tippy Tappy" negative boring stuff. No energy. Fans on his back and abusive chants towards him - 81 goals in 45 games.
Feels like a pretty selective stat though, tbf. If you compare win ratio, total points and points per game, you get a very different picture. And there's absolutely no getting away from the performances and results under Collins' final 12 games. Absolutely atrocious. Relegation standard stuff, which if anything just continued to get worse with each game. By any metric Michael Duff was massively better than Neill Collins.
I was just focusing on the number of goals scored that's all - as that is the main thing that is levelled at Collins. He's been accused of being negative all season. I wasn't try to say that he's better than Duff - I actually don't think he is.
I'd say macatee is just as hard working as Norwood and more skillfull he has scored more league goals than Norwood did last season. I agree about the defence been weaker but still some of the defending this season has been schoolboy and 1 clean sheet in about 25 games I heard the stat was shouldn't be happening.
Agreed. Our defence is far weaker than last season. Collins has lost 3 out of the back 5 that Duff had Collins is accused of being boring and negative, that's all.
14th technically and 5 points off play offs with a game in hand. So not sure what your point is in relation to he was sacked because he lost the dressing room? https://www.11v11.com/league-tables/league-one/13-october-2023/
I agree about McAtee to an extent, but Norwood was the annoying old pro who could hold the ball up and also scored the same number of goals as McAtee...perhaps surprisingly. Defence wise thats's what happens when you replace good players with not very good players...three players that Duff had available were playing in the Cup Semi final on Sunday.
It's because the opposition are so busy scoring for fun down the other end, they forget to defend and we knock a couple of consolation goals in behind their back.
Not sure what Devaney will bring to the party seeing as he did nothing last time he had a caretaker role. Baffling decision with one game to go.
Why should people lay off the board? They've assembled this squad which is seriously lacking quality. They've **** themselves due to low ST sales. They deserve to be hammered irrespective of what happens on Saturday.
Ah! I thought I was having a brain fart moment and had forgotten one of our myriad of former managers!
In nine years (since 2015) we have had 15 managers/head coaches, including caretakers. What message does that send out to prospective new appointments. Today’s bizarre announcement probably suits those who’ve been heaping abuse on Collins and the players, but be careful what you wish for.
