I never knew the match programme changed from Oakwell review in the first place!. I used to be mad on it, and Ive got a good few hundred of them. I stopped collecting them though in the Wilson relegation season, 8 years ago. Because of costs, loss of interest, and lack of room to store them in lol.
I guess its another change to appease some restless fans. Another very small gesture but will show they are listening. Not to survey and solicit feedback specifically is a positive as it shows they are listening in general without having to ask. While this is great, its a minor thing and doesn't really make any difference for me at all. Im still looking out for the things that will have a more positive and lasting impact for game days.
Last time I bought a programme there it had a loose one inside, League Review, or something like that.
I meant feedback regarding the content not the name. The feedback on the name was unequivocal. The feedback n the content, sporadic at best.
You tell me what is dropping in price these days ? And iam not defending the club but everything is increasing in price.
Then show others the way. Be different try cutting prices and see if more punters come. In the old days there used to be genuine sales twice a year to get extra revenue in not like these artificial sales every week of the year like the sofa firms put out
I am sometimes critical of the club where I believe initiatives or actions are poorly thought through and / or executed. On this I'm not. Irrespective of the intent or individual fans views on whether it mattered at all, the change of name to Grove Street wasn't popular and coming at a time when moving away from Oakwell was apparently a consideration the timing was unfortunate. In the past I've generally bought a programme as I saw it as an opportunity to put a little more money into the club and whilst I never looked at it in the ground, it was 20 minutes reading in the following few days. But I stopped buying Grove Street at all some time ago as part of my personal 'not a penny more' campaign, I don't think I bought one at all last season. I will do so on Saturday. The return to 'Oakwell Review' is another small indicator of attempts to show that they're listening and trying to reconnect with fans and I welcome each one. Over time, and with lots of actions I think the disconnect will start to break down. It'll be at different rates for different people dependent on their level of frustration and for me, it's still in the early stages but nevertheless, I recognise that folks at the club are trying. I'm looking forward to journeying up the M1 and getting back to Oakwell on Saturday and am hoping to notice other changes and improvements around the place. COYR!
I've had to put fanzine price to £2.50 from £2. Print costs nearly gone up by 40-50% since the last issue pre-covid.
Why is it, what makes you say that? It is not my impression when I sit in my West Stand seat and survey the scene.
