    Well it puts paid to the rumours going around previously ie ground share with Rovrum Utd, Bradford, changing name to Grove street etc etc. I would hope that we can get the West Stand fully open and not just the Pontefract Road end part.

    Why did Jean Cryne mention letting her 50 per cent of the ground go. Was the ground owned by the Cryne's and the Council?

    Ground was 50/50 between council and crynes.

    It's now 100 percent owned by council

    Khaled rubbished those rumours a while ago, essentially suggesting Paul Conway used them as scare tactics to get the council to agree to a new lease. I reckon it did more harm than good to the clubs relationship with the council, and the board have been trying to repair it ever since.

    The club didn't own it. The Cryne's did. (Or their holding company). Peter Doyle split the club from the land when he "rescued" us from administration. The club hasn't owned any of the land from that point forward.

    I fail to see what difference it will make. The club still don't own the ground so won't be spending their money on it. The council already half owned it and spent bugger all on it so why will that change. Only the Dennis era saw any changes to the ground and that's when the club owned it. The good news out of it is that we've signed a 30 year lease so won't be relocating to the Hoyland bypass.

    I wouldn't want flamey things anywhere near the West Stand:D
    Seriously though I think this is another step forward and shows the intention of the current board to take the club forward.
    It's up to us now to give them the support they need.

    None. Potentially they could be paying more rent. Actual figures aren't disclosed but I'd be very surprised if that wasn't the case.

    Local businesses will be very happy with 11,000 coming to the town every other week, and would like that number to increase.

    The football club doing well is good for the local economy. Plus, if money is invested correctly the council should make money from the ground. My only fear is that there becomes too much focus on non-matchday income, that matchday issues don't get addressed.
