Depends who we bring in & if any more go I guess. He has no reason to commit at this stage, as far as I see it. I hope we can give him the players that he feels he needs to do the job. Most of the squad looks strong to me, but certain positions (CB & striker for two) definitely need strengthening. If he is given the players & an increased salary then surely he will, as a manager's contract doesn't mean a great deal in terms of long term commitment (look at Lampard going to Chelsea).
Not at all !!! In fact quite the opposite. It was easy to hear the anguish and disappointment in Heckys voice at that time when he said something on the lines of ........ we need more players and those recruiting need to get a move on !!! This is totally different to Danny’s recent comments which are upbeat and he goes onto say that he trusts the owners.
He's a good manager DS & will be trying to get the best squad he can. He is also motivating his squad in preseason. Not really a surprised he isn't getting over-animated. Losing your entire CB's (including Jackson), is a set back, but I've a feeling we'll be fairly confident at the end of the window. An extra striker is a must, as there will be offers for Moore in January, if we keep him. I'm not sure we'll play 2 up top either in many games. I'm thinking more of a 4-3-3, with wide players cutting in. Green might come good.
Seems rightly annoyed at his team being ripped apart. We can't expect all these new lads at a tough new level to gel from the off. But then we can't afford to be playing catch up by September. It would be nice to think he will be supported with us bringing in a centre half that's played 100 plus championship games.
Might be hard to do on the wage front that. Experienced players on continent may be easier to get. We'll see.
Thing is an experienced centrehalf that's the reyt age in the championship will be north of 5 million we aren't going to spend that. Daniel knows what we need and I'm sure the board are backing him as much as is possible
No way will be sign an experienced championship player. Possibly an older player from abroad like they’ve done with the keeper maybe
Germanic & French football is full of players that can play the ball with their feet & close a game down. Value is likely to be found there.
Let’s also not forget Stendel will know the German league at that level inside out from both experience and from contacts still working there
Didn't we add to the forwards with Chaplin? Or did I just imagine that? Even if Moore goes that still leaves us with the same number of first team forwards, so it's hardly dismantling is it.
I didn't say we were going to sell our players and not bring anyone in! We're a football team, if we don't sign players we can't play games. I said, somewhat tongue in cheek, that we'd dismantle our midfield and forwards after dismantling the defence. I claimed midfield first, but we've started on the forward line. Bringing someone else in doesn't mean you haven't dismantled what you had.
If he's offered one I don't see why not? If we sack him he gets a better pay off, if another club wants him they will likely be happy to pay the compo and he will still move on. What's the downside for him?
I guess if he wanted to return home he couldn't simply walk away from his contract without some penalty. Not suggesting that is the case, but that's the only thing I can think of.
It amounts to exactly the same thing. We won't be starting the new season with the forward line that scored the goals to win us promotion.
