That's why his marketing team are advertising in New York and not Sheffield .

Seeds, acorns, oak trees, etc etc etc

Then more oak trees = forest followed by lumberjacks and forest cut down to size.

= we stay up! Can you see it adding up?

I don't see it as advertising in any way more than a message saying 'good luck jose' would be without any context

Fair enough but why New York ? . It's like a second division American football team getting a good luck message in Piccadilly circus.

It may be just as simple as a shout out or kind of a thank you.
Didn’t the New York City Reds fans fly over to watch the forest match and it was called off
I saw from twitter the club were aware of what had happened
Looking at there twitter accounts they are or have been at Times Square looking at the sign.
Maybe they took the photo of it for the club.

If you have been to Times Square there are what you would term as one off messages/digital adverts between the main advertising all the time just lasting a few seconds.

People put there pictures up , marriage proposals , birthday wishes ,adverts etc up on some of the billboards.
And if it was actually advertising for the club , I presume it would be tax deductible anyhows.

Getting people interested isn't all about them attending games.

I was looking at the webcam feed for Times Square last night to see if the ad was repeated and if there was a bit more to it. They switch between 4 or 5 views and you could see that particular billboard in the background of one of them. It didn't come on while I was watching, so it may have been a one-off.
