In my time I’ve worked for a lot of worldwide brands - in some cases doing their advertising in others being involved in their brand identity. The home shirt – if anyone I employed came up with that, they would no longer have a job. Unless it was CEOs 3 year old son who’d had a bash. Even then I’d tell the CEO his son would be better off in accountancy or summat. It's hard to believe any fully sighted person could have come up with this. The Black strip – designed by someone who works on the perfume counter at Dubai airport. I could write a whole thesis on just how totally ‘off brand’ these strips are.
OK, I am going to say something positive to counter my earlier dislike of the home strip. I quite like the fade to white with the red shorts then acting as contrast. There, said it.
I did wonder what the Ladies would be playing in, though I think this may be an old John Beresford number when he was sporting the Lady Di haircut.
I don’t hate it, and I don’t think it’s as bad as some people are making out, but I’m quite a minimalist and hate the vertical placement of the badges. I like the collar and quite like the fade to white. Remove the stars, place the puma badge on one side and the club badge on the other, and I think it would look great.
Forgot to pack mi spare under crackers on a foriegn holiday. Forget where. But went to the market next day. Must have been made in Taiwan for their own. Picked some xl up. Wunt have fitted someone 6 stone wet through. Largest on stall xxxl. Might have fitted me when I got married 32" waist. And would have been tight at that. Thankfully found some on another stall. to fit me uk size chart. M ("O'reight. XL")
Personally i like it. Think it looks really good.. i also like the blue keeper top and black third strip.
We have this day every preseason where there’s a 50:50 split on the new shirt between its good to it’s embarrassing and horrendous; for every person saying, wow a central badge, there’s some one else saying if they move the badge across it’s a good shirt! What I can say is that I showed the the shirts individually to a few fans of other teams and others also mentioned it to me today of their own accord….. none of them said it’s awful or embarrassing, they all said it was different, oh and that they loved the 3rd kit!
