Don't really like them personally, it's good that we are trying something different tho. More bothered about on and off the field really.
It's a lovely away kit but it's not our home kit. We play in red shirts white shorts, not white shirt with a red trim and red shorts. That's an away kit. I think it's impressive that they've changed the colours of our home kit and changed our badge all in one go. Even mk Dons did it in stages
Hence you seemed to be saying it wasn’t as bad as this new one because it was “of its time” but your logic doesn’t follow as it just wasn’t really.
My main question is has that kit honestly been chosen because the design suits Barnsley FC or because it contains stars which are a key aspect of the American sponsor's logo? I know which it appears to me
These are the best kits we've had since the Lotto days and I think I like them even better than those. The plain red shirt brigade need to lighten up. The club have really tried to do something different. That the Daily Mail doesn't like it makes me embrace it even more. And I'd rather have an eagle on the front than a betting company logo. Plus, when supporters wear these tops with jeans, not white shorts, they're now not missing the white part of the kit.
But we play in red shirts white shorts and this isn't that. It would be just as different if we announced a blue and white striped home shirt wouldn't it?
I know blue and white is worse but come on we play In red shirts, white shorts, and this isn't that so if the way they've been different is to change the colour of our home kit then I dont want different. We are talking about owners (under whatever make up) who have failed to purchase our ground, have discussed moving away from Oakwell, who have watered down the word Oakwell by constantly referring to our ground as grove Street and have now changed our home kit to white shirts red trim, red shorts and changed the badge on the third kit too. Call me cynical if you want but I think combined it's a terrible look for the owners and worrying for the club.
Think is you can’t say “**** the fans” on behalf of people who actually like it. Whatever the kit is some like it, some don’t. I like that we have tried something different. I’m sick of seeing a tiny difference in a plain t shirt kit. i can see why people don’t like it. I quite like it (apart from the sponsor logo). I probably won’t buy it, but I’m sure plenty will. I think it’s a bold move.
See I meant that in reference to the three kits which are enforced due to having a white home shirt and white away shirt. 3 kits should never be needed or launched in my opinion, it's preying on parents who can't afford it
I love it, reminds me of when I first started watching Barnsley. Something different, out of the ordinary. I'll definitely be getting one for me and my son. The red shorts though? Not sure about them.
Couple of mates said it was a monstrosity, but the kind of kit that would be a retro classic in 20 or 30 years. They were very surprised when I showed them it already was.
