Haven't read any replies yet, just the announcement: sounds nice but not sure I understand. I can donate my tickets and keep them?

    This.

The club could offer us all a gold pig and yet some would still complain.

As far as I’m aware mate not in the sense you and me may differ.
Only as a working Temporary CEO. Not as a director as in divi’s. I know some thought the wages were high. ( me included) But CEO’s in any business tend to be the highest on the payroll of a company. . ( a lot ott. IMO) difficult to swallow but not unknown.
Ps I use the term working because some think he should do it for nowt. But he still has other work to do and gave up that time to run the club solely.

I don't think that's true. If people have a gripe with the club then I'm sure this will just become another stick to beat them with. As stated, you can have your money back or you can support the club. You can turn your back or you can be a season ticket holder and support the club. You can support the NHS staff AND support your club. You make a choice. Its pretty simple.

    What a despicable sentence.

So if I ask for a refund I'd be turning my back and not supporting the club?

I've given this club so much money over my near 30 years of having a season ticket. To say I'm turning my back on my club is truly pathetic.

This demonising of those wanting a refund is abhorrent.

Edit: As it happens I won't be getting a refund - I've written the money off. But to suggest people are turning their backs on the club is poor. You don't know individual circumstances at all. People might need this money who are living hand to mouth. Poor.

Can you explain it to me please. I'm not being deliberately obtuse, I never wanted a refund, I understand perfectly that the club has a massive black hole in terms of income, I jut really don't know what they're offering.

    As I read it:
    • They are offering a refund for the 4 remaining games (but clearly would rather you didn't take that option)
    • They are offering you a 4 game Flexi for next season and the one after in lieu of a refund
    • They are offering you the option to donate those 4 games to the tickets they are donating to the NHS and keyworkers
    • There will be some sort of flat rate heavily discounted season ticket offer for next season that will be available very soon.

    Options are:

    * Don't ask for a refund (i) The club will give a voucher for your 4 games to a key worker.
    * Don't ask for a refund (ii) Get a voucher for a 4 game flexi-ticket so you can take a mate or give it to someone as a present or whatever you want. These can be used to watch any 4 games over the next 2 seasons.
    * Get a refund

Season tickets for next season will soon go on sale at a 'heavily discounted' price. That price will be the same no matter what stand or tier you sit in.

That's how I understood it. And I don't see how anyone can feel aggrieved with that offer.

Right, I did think I got that. But what I don't understand, which I guess is my point, if they're trying to sell me a season ticket, which is fair enough btw, the club need income, why would I also need a 4 game flexi pass? And if I donate it, are there really over 6,0000 key workers wanting to come to BFC matches that don't already have their own season ticket?

I'm not slagging the club off, really I'm not, I'm just struggling with the logic.

Yeah I get what you are saying. I think the idea is you'd be able to bring someone else along if you are going to renew. Or maybe you could use them for cup games? The top and bottom of it is that they are trying to avoid shelling out refunds. I assume the 6,000 tickets will be available to NHS workers over a number of games and some would come more than once.

I think the issue is the 400k 'hole' which is only 80k for each of our five owners to put in, which if some can afford to purchase a 4th club in these testing times, can't be short of a bob or two or worried about finances that much.

Flexi ticket was vague. Like can it be used for cup games?

Heavily reduced season pass price to renew at is something we should have done years ago like Bradford, Huddersfield etc instead of only doing so because their hand has been forced.

Plus the reduced matchday and commercial income from 4 games.
Plus the reduced matchday and commercial income from x games next season
Plus the reduced tv solidarity payments from the EFL pot that comes from TV rights that haven't been honored
Plus the reduction in season ticket revenue next season
Plus possible impact of relegation on finances as well
    etc etc etc

That's bang out of order Gally in my opinion. Not everyone is as rich as you for a start and you are trying to guilt trip people. Making out some are better fans than others.

I get that, and understand why. Think they should have made it clearer we could use the 4 game flexi for friends/family if that is the case. In fact, should have made it a selling point. I'd happily go for that. I'd give it to NHS workers if I thought it would be used, but unfortunately I don't think it would. Not that it isn't a decent gesture by the club, just that I doubt there's the demand. 6,000 tickets is an awful lot.

Wonder what Mowatt is on a week. Maybe we shouldn't have renewed his contract if we are that hard up.

    1) You can have a refund. That much I understand.

    2) You can donate the tickets to the NHS. That much is clear too.

    3) You can claim the tickets for the four matches, and use them at any point over the next two seasons. I assume that if you renew your season-ticket you can take another person with you on four occasions - but this is not made clear.

I think those are the options. One of them only. You can't refund two of them and give two of them to the NHS (although the spiel does allude to special circumstances being taken into consideration.)

What would be a ****-take is if we get relegated (and it's looking likely) and your four free tickets are for you only, for four Checkatrade Trophy matches, or three and a League Cup defeat to Salford or somebody.

Extending the back up keepers contract. Why?

That's the bit that was confusing me. If we can use it for friends and family I'm fine with it. It's if I buy a season ticket and get a flexi pass that only I can use. Not that I'm complaining, just questioning.
