I'd be very disappointed if it's off, walked it into Tarn a hour ago and no probs whatsoever.

It's a good job I stocked up with Milk and Bread, Christmas Eve for the impending Armageddon. Looking out the window and there's a still some snow on the pavements.

When will it go away? I've only got a couple more days supplies left. Sod it, I'm going to have to call 999 ;)

Me too. A few glasses of mulled wine watching Liverpool v Swansea and eating xmas pudding instead. Then we still get to see us against Oldham at a later date. Best of both worlds.

There's 2 tractors doing a strictly come ice clearing routine as we speak. Looks a reyt scream to be fair. Ben ought to consider it as an idea for one of those red letter day experiences!

Why would the council clear round the ground?

I hope they actually make the decision at 12 rather than 'giving the game a chance' and postponing it a couple of hours before kick off. Will mean people won't have set off. Would like it to be on because I just like going to the games, but at the same time it would be helpful to me if it isn't as my car wouldn't start this morning to i'd have chance to mess at around with that before work in the morning.

I'm struggling to understand the criticism here

There's a genuine reason for the game possibly being called off. The access ways outside the ground and on the way to the ground aren't 100% safe, that's a fact. Yes, to me and you they're fine but when there's 9,000 other people who might not deal with it as comfortably, it only takes one to go over and the club will find themselves in court, or even worse with a severely injured fan or two.

Could they have worked harder to prepare for the weather? Absolutely judging by people living nearby.

Should they have worked harder? Depends on your own opinion. I think we're a better team later in the season, so if it was my football club and my money/job, I'd probably be tactically thinking this is a convenient game to postpone. I'd much rather be taking Oldham on with some of our key players fit, more rested, and with the new January signings hitting their stride.

If the announcement comes at 12pm it doesn't impact on any fans having to travel from far away.

What....you mean ask them to WORK?? Shocking behaviour.

One look at their "work" inside the ground on match days sums up their attitude to that. The laziest ball boys in the football league!

Isn't part of paying council tax so they can make sure their roads are safe? Where there is blame there is a claim. They won't want people falling and trying to sue them.

i think it's safe to say that if the game's called off, it's because the club wanted it to be. pi$$ poor if it is.

It snowed about 3 inch of snow on friday. I cant believe there is even a discussion about whether the club have managed to clear their ground by monday night. Its bloody embarrassing that it is even being talked about.

Night match over Christmas break, 3 inches of snow on a friday yet we start to work on the ground an hour or two before 'official inspections'. I didn't really see any council gritters doing too much around the main roads let alone the approach streets to a pending route for 7000 people. We wonder why people moan at our club and town when the club and council offer up so much to moan about. I would be more surprised if the game is on rather than off.

So Match is off. Im shocked and stunned, not that its called off, but that it wasn't called off at 3pm on Friday. Im sure we all knew by then.

We had at least three inches of snow Friday night as well. I went out in the morning and cleared my driveway and patio which wasn't that difficult, and then sprinkled a bit of salt around (not much). Here we are, Monday morning, and my block paving is as dry and clear as it was on Saturday afternoon. So, on a much bigger scale obviously, why wasn't something similar done around Oakwell on Saturday? Thought it might snow again maybe? Nothing forecast.

Like everyone else I will be amazed if the game is on, but if it is not it is an absolute disgrace
