    Is it just me who thinks this is really poorly written?

    Yes, could've been worded better. It makes no sense- it should say, "Please note that Barnsley Football Club particularly welcomes applications from...."

    Yes could have worded it better. Not so sure 'particularly welcomes' works either. But I get it.

    Positive discrimination is illegal.
    Positive action is legal.

    This is from the first NHS job I found. Pretty much sums up what I was trying to say. It should be the best person for the job, but encouraging under represented groups to apply is the right thing to do:

    "We are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace and aim to reflect the diverse communities we work with and positively encourage applications from all sectors of the community."
