I didn't get what I paid for with my Reserved+, so if I access illegal streams, tough. I'm merely making good the deficit.

(That I didn't get what I paid for is not the club's fault. But I didn't get what I paid for.)

    A cracking treasure chest.
I'll show her my flying dutchman and give her a jolly rogering

    All away games.

It was only alluded to, and I didn't get them because of the EFL or iFollow or whatever, as opposed to the football club - but the money I paid was real enough.

I'm happy to source them illegally.

On the one hand I agree. On the other I think that clubs have done exceptionally well out of ifollow regarding season ticket holders. Especially our club.

4 season ticket holders in the house watch just one stream generally. That's 3 streams essentially paid for which go unwatched. I can't back it up but I would bet that the amount of paid for but unwatched streams outweighs the none paid for streams.
On top of that you have all those who have accidentally paid for streams again due to the incompetence of the EFL/ifollow in making a service that isn't fit for service. I wonder how much money the club has earned from these accidental payments. I know my dad did it twice and just didn't bother to request the money back.
And the extra kick in the teeth is that some clubs offered home and away streams to season ticket holders, we chose make the away streams a condition of paying extra to become a reserved+ member.

Do I think that makes the piracy ok? Not at all but it does lower my sympathy for those who arranged this whole **** show.

Also I wonder how many of those illegal streams were watched simply because someone couldn't get the official one to work. I've done that once this season. Couldn't get the stream I paid for to work so I watched an illegal stream. It wasn't lost revenue for the club as I'd already paid. I wonder how many of those 170 per game are actually people doing that.

Free streamed away games I believe was the lure.

Whilst it wasn't guaranteed, there was a carrot put before the reserved+ donkey.

Some of us bit. So we feel slightly duped.

I bit too and you raise a good point. I know it wasn't guaranteed but I have to say I'm a little disappointed in the actual offering as from what I can work out the only away games I can watch for my money are those I can already watch on sky red button unless I've missed something.

    Yeah, exactly.

I understand why the club used it as a selling point - it's a very attractive benefit, and I don't blame them for using it. And they did caveat it as 'it isn't our decision either way', in their defence.

It was a gamble on my part, and I lost the bet. But there are ways to recoup the stake, and I have no moral issue with doing so.

I think when you add on the initial ifollow fiasco and the fact that even now you can't be 100% sure that the home game is going to emerge from a whirling white ring on a black background, the club could be a bit more proactive when it comes to pacifying the punters who regularly get nothing for their season ticket purchase.

It's all OK blaming ifollow, but who did we pay our season ticket dosh to?

Last home game the family had to watch the game on a miniature screen cos nothing else worked. No logic to it. So why should they bleat if we tried to source it (allegedly) ilegally? Not that I'd know how btw.

I've got mega Virgin cable broadband/ hub etc. etc so it ain't my fault

The difference between Reds Reserved and Reds Reserved Plus was £40. For that, my son has had a shirt and 2 midweek away games so far (with hopefully more to come). Two more away games and he's had his money's worth, plus a free shirt. It may not have been what we would have wished for, i.e. access to all away games, but we're certainly not feeling duped in the Goat household.

It wasn't the shirt that was the inducement to buy reserved+ though was it? You could buy a reserved, and then naff off down the store if you wanted a shirt. Net result, reserved+ after you've bought it.

If like me you had no interest in the shirt, I'm £40+ down. Not that this bothers me too much tbh.

The midweek games are on sky red button, I believe. So if you've already got Sky, which many have, then there's no benefit.

What we now have to do is pay a tenner each away Saturday to watch the team. Which by the end of the season will have cost well over an extra ton and a half.

Think it as the clubs stance (if they will let us) but we will take the money in the meantime.

If I want a shirt, I'll buy a shirt. As it is, I haven't bothered with the free one, because it was bottom of the list of things I wanted from Reserved+. There's no point having a shirt when there are no live, from-the-stadium games for me to attend, because it's basically the only time I'll wear it.

Pre-lockdown, I didn't miss many games, be that home or away. I didn't go to every single one, but I reckon 90 per cent of them. I got tricked by the 'away games' benefit, and paid up, assuming I'd get them all.

I want to see the away games, and consider I've already paid for them, so I'll find a way to watch them for free.

I gambled on reserve+ because I thought that the price of a shirt meant that there wasn't really much of a gamble if I didn't get much in the way of away games however I have to admit that the way the club were offering it and I was told that last year's offering was a strong indicator of how this season's offering would play out really made me believe that the EFL would allow away games and it was just a formality.

Turns out it was obviously not even close to being a formality and wasn't going to be allowed and as for the shirt. Well I bought my season ticket in may or June. It's now the middle of November and here's a photo I've just taken... 16059096956026574112551330547763.jpg

I watch on iptv as its the only way i can get a decent stream of the game. I dont even bother using my ifollow code for home games anymore.

Ifollow is so poor im still waiting for the commentary to end from rochdale away 2 seasons ago

It is somewhat ironic for the club to have us "say no to piracy" when they opened up our coffers with the enticement of away game booty, only to sail off into the sunset leaving us with just one shirt on our backs.

How about a bottle of Captain Morgan each for the great reserved+, to treasure and bring comfort as they dig out their fortnightly tenner to watch what they hoped would be for free?
