Never realised that about Aylott so I looked it up. 2 in 29 for Chelsea before we signed him. I guess we didn’t analyse stuff as much back then before the days of the internet and good old wiki. He didn’t turn out too bad did he?! Feeling better about Tedic already…..
We've just acquired a young lad on loan who's looking to build his career. He was bought by Man City. They might have got it wrong. However, given the state of our "business" / club, let's create a revolution and welcome him with open arms, support him and cheer his name rather than slightly him off when we haven't seen him play. He might not be a marquee signing but he could fit the bill. For the oldsters on here....Toshack and Keegan. Tedic and Norwood. COYR.
His stats are poor but you can't help thinking that man city must have seen something' didn't they pay £3 million for him?' maybe he just needs a club thats a good fit for him' lets hope so...
I agree we definitely need to save judgement until we see him for us after a few games. But the point about City seeing something after paying 3 mill for him is a bit mute; they tend to spend small fortunes on a lot of youth players, just 'in case' they come good. There's obviously potential there, whether it's justified they paid that amount, we will see. He's completely different from what we have, so hopefully he does well and compliments those around him. At the very least, I think it's a step in the right direction. For some reason, probably blind optimism, I'm quite excited...
Me neither but Trev was just, on paper at least, a promising youngster coming through the big club youth system. It was quite a coup on Clarkie’s part to get this Sarf Bermonsee lad to uproot himself all that way north. £50,000 very well spent, definitely.
I genuinely get excited by every signing and I’m always eager to watch them on the pitch and see what they have too offer. Can’t understand all the negative comments, new season, clean slate for every player. Ignore all stats before hand. Judge them when they put on a red shirt.
I expected better English after being at Man City for two and a half years and signing for them months in advance.
According to wiki he signed for them and remained on loan at his 'former club' and was then shipped out to Holland for the second year. I bet he's barely set foot in Manchester, never mind learnt another language in a land he hasn't been living in. From wiki: In September 2019, a deal was agreed for Tedić to join Manchester City in January 2020.[3] He remained on loan at his former club until the end of the 2019–20 season. On 1 September 2020, Tedić joined Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle on a season-long loan deal.[4] On 28 May 2021, the loan had been extended.[5]
I'm just hoping he's what we need, to give the Barnsley faithful summat to shout about after the last 18 months,C,O,Y,R,
Yes it looks underwhelming with his poor scoring record so far. But look at it another way ehh, at least hes NOT Cole or Iseka or Oulare!, and surely he can't be any worse. He might add a bit extra to what we need, and be a threat to bring on for the last 25 minutes etc.
