No problem. I think you'd be ideal. Especially after what we talked about t'other day. Be right up your street. Make sure you show em the Dundalk photo, and the FLS footage from Setdi.

"good team player"... does my Monday night 5 a side session qualify me.
Or does it mean I may have to bring me boots every Saturday?

When I first saw the job title I thought it was just a posh way of saying "Stewards Required".

Wouldn't mind doing something like this, any word on what the pay is though? No point going through all the process only to be offered a wage you can't live on.

There is no wage. It's a voluntary position. You get a free season ticket.

Has that been stated, can't see it anywhere? I thought I read it was FA funded, but I can't see that either, probably imagined it. You would think a voluntary position would make itself very clear from the offset.

It does seem like a lot of responsibility for no salary and the job description isn't worded in the delicate manner of voluntary work. I know as I have to work with the precious fckers.

Fantastic they're doing this but if all clubs were serious it'd be a full time, paid job.

Worry that these turn into a **** from above and below getting nothing done type.

'This is a new role to which all Football League Clubs must appoint a member of staff in order to facilitate stronger communication between supporters and club.'

I can't see it being voluntary/unpaid with lingo like this. In my job, I write recruitment briefs for volunteers and interns and that would just not be appropriate. It will be a paid position or someone has gone about this all wrong.

If it was paid Paul I can't imagine one of the key rewards would be office space 'as and when required' and 'reasonable travel expenses'.

It'll be payment in kind with Season Ticket in the hope that working for BFC will attract some decent candidates. Not a chance it's salaried (and if it was I doubt they'd want 3 people).

Well in that case, BFC should really address their recruitment strategy and verbalisation of the essential details of the role. I can't see Ben Mansford being that familiar with the delicate nuances of the voluntary sector!!

It wouldn't be Barnsley though, without the odd minor dropped bollack. I think we might expect a carefully worded update on this before the day's out. :D

Forced upon the club so will probably be resented unless they finish up with an arse licking type who wants to feel important sitting on Stokesey`s knee, whilst becoming the office lacky.

Must have exited bed wrong side today.

This boils my mind. All the money sloshing around in football, but the football authorities exploit the feelings good fans have by expecting them to work for nothing in a job like this - what about minimum wage laws?

If an organisation needs a job of work doing, then pay somebody qualified to do it. Find the money by signing one less loan player next season.
