Well 1-0 away at a Championship team doesn’t seem like it will cause a melt down like 9-1 at home to Leeds did. Can’t take the second half seriously due to the changes and who’s coming on.

Not a bad performance first half, a commanding centre back and a decent striker and I don't think we'd be too far away

The 2 new centre backs had good first halves I thought. Cotter not so much defensively.

Overall I think it looks more of the same from last season. Which is good, can’t be rewriting the script like last time we had a season after losing in the playoffs.

Second half will be interesting given the raft of changes we’re making. Might be a tough watch if they’re on top of us the full half but hopefully a few of ours will standout.

I agree - I said on here 3/4 days ago about his defending and I rightly got told to give him time (which is true, I just didn't word it properly), but even when the opposition have the ball in their own half, Cotter is still in the wrong position, last season he got caught out quite a lot considering his actual amount of game time. His anticipation when defending is just non-existent in the displays I've seen of him so far, meaning his positions are all wrong because he's playing catch up. I don't want to sound too harsh though as he really hasn't been here long, but what worries me is he's making the exact same errors and then giving away 2 fouls, both worthy of a yellow, both because he's out of position. Then arguing with his teammates.

But he has played very few minutes for us in total so may just be an overreaction, hopefully anyway. It is just very basic things for a defender though which is the worrying part. Attacking football he looks electric at times. Hopefully Collins gets him under his wing and turns him into prime Dani Alves :D

That Shaw miss defies belief - not sure how it's physically possible to put it so far wide left and over from one inch out on the right centre of the goal.

Better team first half, if only Shaw had scored the sitter. They scored with their first shot. Cotter looked sluggish in attack until it was too late. Good save from killip.

Hull still have a good number of first teamers to bring on and 2nd half will be a tough watch I reckon.

Decent half. New centre back looks good. Connell excellent in midfield. Norwood looks sharp. Need some quality in key areas though. We have a clear shape and tried to play some decent stuff

There's little or nothing to take from pre season games, but it does hit the confidence a bit with bad defending and missed open goals.

Brought all the kids on for the 2nd half but yet left Iseka on the bench? I actually feel sorry for him, he might as well go now…

The way he’s been handled since the start of last year has been atrocious.
