It just makes a refreshing change to see youtube clips of our signings with something resembling a crowd. The Austrain second tier grounds always seem to have no stands and more trees than fans round the pitch. It's a punt with the lad, wish him well, he scored five different (and stylish) goals with both feet and his head. Clearly has something, could be the next Mike Phoenix or the next Jamie Vardy, who knows but I'll get behind him either way, needs bringing into the side gradually
Surprisingly, it doesn't appear to be an artificial pitch. Considering that game was in the middle of January, and they share their pitch with Birmingham's reserve team, it's an incredible pitch, for any level.
Austin a gut for the Reds. Houston his opportunities wisely. Galverston the team together. Soz, I just ruined that..
Excellent pace. Makes intelligent runs. The Dover defence looks absolutely horrendous, but you can only beat what's in front of you.
Just had a look at the highlights of the Notts County v Chesterfield final on YouTube. Dallas scored a good penalty early on wearing the number 29 shirt. Nothing else after that but this was only a ten minute clip. Took the penalty very well
Just have to wait and see and not jump to premature conclusions. If he's good, hurrah. If he's carp, boo!
It would be good if the club could put a montage of clips together on new signings, like they used to do....... Goals, skills etc it just adds to the signing.
I'm happy with the signing. Although I'm not quite so happy with his explanation about why he joined us rather than another club. I know our strategy and broadly agree with it. But it somehow disappoints me that a player would openly say that the reason they came is so that they can go as soon as they get a better offer. I miss the days when I felt there was some loyalty and we had some players who stayed for a few years. I guess the plan is that at some stage our stature is such that players stay because we can afford to pay high(er) wages and we sell fewer players but for a much bigger fee and profit, but I don't see that happening in the foreseeable future. I find it a bit sad that we'll probably never again see a player wear the Red shirt 200/300/400 times and become a legend alongside Murphy, Winstanley, Chambers etc. For that reason, as our longest serving player I hope Jordan Williams stays, but suspect he won't because we'll try to move him on. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...-national-league-side-chesterfield-fc-4232983
Waters and Dallas could both be major successes given time but it would be a pity if Norwood were to leave just yet. His influence will be important. Try to keep him for now and reevaluate in January. It’s vital to get promotion this season and not lose the momentum that has built up.
Partially agree - but he’s being honest. Refreshing for a change. Most players will think the same too. And that’s down to the good reputation we have within the industry of bringing youth on and developing them. We have for years. Most young lads would do the same in any industry, and do. Loads of lads get trained by good companies and then leave to go elsewhere for money or go self-employed.
Wasn't sure on this one when we were first linked but the more interviews etc. I see the more I like it. Hopefully he's a success.
