    That's correct mate, nowhere near the first team. Watch the gaffer put Kane on the bench now on Saturday, but for me he's nowhere near first team action on that performance

    Don't get me started on U23s. I know I'm coming on all Vuctor Meldrew but why on earth is there no reserve team league. We have a stack of players like Halme, Moon, Adeboyejo, Kane, Walton, Williams etc, etc who, at best get the odd first team game or a 15 minute run from the bench who otherwise get no competitive game time.
    Kane played today and fair enough it was for fitness as he's presumably too good for that level. Once fit though he's likely going to be going stale twiddling his thumbs playing maybe half an hour a month off the bench. Gives him no chance to get his confidence back.
    The size of our squad and probably most other teams would allow a reserve league of a decent standard for players to learn/stake a claim.

    I don’t think you can judge him on a game he’s played to get fitness up, playing alongside what was left when the actual u23s team went off on loan. He’s shown enough last season to say he’s a better midfielder than Halme imo, and should be on the bench if fit enough.

    I agree, he did show enough ladt season and I wasn't being harsh on Herbie but there was nothing at all today from him. No brief flahes of quality, no brilliant passes. He's got a lot of work to do, maybe the injury has taken a lot out of him, I don't know
