From this you’d have to assume that the previous owners initially valued the club at £16m, but with the threat of relegation and potential loss of revenue at the time of sale, they were unlikely to find a buyer willing to pay that amount. Therefore, they accepted £10m for the club and added a condition to the sale to recover the £6m shortfall between valuation and purchase price should the club survive that season, or get promoted at the first attempt if they’re relegated. They accept the purchase of the club at £10m (which is paid in full) and hope one of the two options in the condition comes to fruition. We’re relegated, so now their only hope for the extra money is if we’re promoted the following season. The following season is a tight affair and nothing is guaranteed, but we’re doing well. As a result, the 80% ers stick in a cheeky offer to lower the payment to £3.5m and pay in instalments and will pay whether we’re promoted or not. 3 payments are made and then the instalments stop due to a legal dispute relating to the ground purchase?

Do we know whether it stipulates in the original £6m condition, or in the £3.5m, how that payment must be funded? Is the initial £6m condition considered part of the overall ‘purchase’ of the club, or did the £10 million payment cover that? Did the later £3.5 million offer supersede any legalities within the initial £6m condition?

I got 30 minutes in and then had to pause. I can't even watch a film that lasts 2.5 hours. I have a short attention sp... Ooooh a butterfly and a squirrel. Sorry, where was I.

I'm not saying you are incorrect with your assumption, but I would like to offer an alternative view. You have assumed that Salary Cap refers to an individual player, when it may refer to the overall team. As such, we may not be paying any of the newer players more than the existing ones, but paying several new players a higher salary than we wanted, which then exceeds our overall salary cap

The most important thing I got out of the first 30 minutes, is that I now would recognize @Loko the Tyke, in case I ever get to meet him for a bevy when he's over this side of the pond.

    Yes.

I'm focused on the use of club funds to meet those payments.

I'll offer the entire group 20 million for the lot.

Providing of course I can take 2 million out for the next 10 years to pay for it.

    No, thought not.

The fact these are supposedly worth billions, penny pinching by their standards.

2,75 million to go.... Doesn't that equate to roughly the entire season ticket income for one season......

The thing that strikes me based on q's and answers and from peoples' reactions on here is that for several reasons there is dissatisfaction about the responses from him. Whether he is avoiding, ignorant, diverting or misinformed does now not seem to be the key thing. The chap is looking increasingly like he is not the person who should be answering these questions. The fan base is still seriously alienated and there is no real progress in terms of allaying their fears. Its clear that Conway is the person who should be answering questions otherwise things will just go round in circles (which indeed is perhaps what some people at the top would like).

Only one payment has been made. Which is why £2.75m is the outstanding balance. This conveniently means that first instalment was £750k. Who knew.

They're saying this was agreed by all parties involved. But the Cryne Family have stated otherwise in their 'statement' to the Chronicle. So it's all a bit up in the air and still needs answering.

It could be a collective squad wage cap… but they could better work with that if they reduced squad size.

It wasn’t especially clear what he meant at all. I can’t see anyone meriting higher wages than Woodrow.

Maybe we could ask for clarification.

Oh bugger! I'm in trouble now. I should have kept quiet and then I wouldn't have been found out. I'll queue it up right after the remaining 2 hours of this one; honest!

Definitely recommend you give them a go. Some are really interesting and some are funny. If you want a laugh check out Rick Holden. It features Loko wanting to hide in the wardrobe so he doesn't get the blame for the interview

I'm only jesting. But can I make a recommendation that if you only watch one episode, you choose Andy Ritchie and Rick Holden. Although Mick McCarthy was pretty good as well.

I can't believe the Crynes would accept a reduced final figure of 3.5m, to be paid from the resources of a vehicle which is 20% theirs! That's 6m reduced to 3.5m reduced to 2.8m.

It’s a mess. If the £6m (later reduced to £3.5m) payments legally form part of the purchase, then the 80% ers haven’t paid the agreed price and shouldn’t be running the club.
