Lancaster. I’d allow Morecambe, Preston or Carlisle but that’s even more of a life of misery than Barnsley.
We were going to this one but got put off by the lack of trains on Saturday from Manchester to Horwich Parkway. Unless I've had a mare it appears like 1 or 2 changes are needed for what would otherwise be a 25 minute journey. That's put us off totally I'm afraid and perhaps accounts for a portion of fans not attending. Arriving by train to this fixture isn't pleasant anyway due to how the police tend to 'handle' the away fans but given the shortest route back to Manchester is over an hour or a bus replacement... not for me. The ticket price gives another reason not to attend I'll admit. No pay on the day seems bizarre but seems to be a growing trend in football where spontaneous match attending seems frowned upon and discouraged.
They will need to raise their game massively from Saturday, to get anything at Bolton. And as much as I don’t want to think of us as a one man team, I personally don’t think we can win the game without Luca on the pitch.
https://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/watters.323657/ Plenty of optimism on there some even predicting him to score 20 and more than Cole etc. People saying they would start watters over Cole.. that thread aged well.
