I think I had it February 2020 along with wife and daughter. It could have a bug from the soft play centre my daughter went to for a party, but the symptoms were very odd, never been so fatigued in my life. Wife has what we think is a bad cold at the moment and I'm starting to feel a bit weak, but her lateral tests are negative and PCR test hasn't come back yet.
No. Well as far as I know. And hopefully this remains the case. Best wishes and a speedy recovery to all those unfortunate enough to have contracted it.
Caught it in September. Just felt really tired for 3 or 4 days and had a slight cough for a couple of them. Other than that I was ok.
Had it in November 2020 but just booked a PCR test for tomorrow. LFT says negative but I've a stinking headache and temperature and my lad's best mate's dad had exactly the same, his LFT was negative but his PCR positive. Gonna go just to be on the safe side.
Twice. Early in the first wave so probably the 'wild' variant. Couldn't get tested at the time so couldn't confirm it, but had an antibody test later as part of a study which did confirm I'd had it. Then this summer, so probably Delta. 1st time felt like flu (which I've had once when I was in my 20s, although it wasn't as debilitating as flu), so fever, no energy, aching and a splitting headache, and the latest time it felt like exactly the same was coming on again, but it lasted less than 24 hours. It felt like my immune system knew what it was and killed it off. Felt tired for a week or so after, but nothing like the first time. Lost sense of smell second time not first. I've no doubt I'll get Omicron, it's endemic and will continue to be so. From what I've read neither the vaccine nor natural immunity from previous variants give you much protection against Omicron. Interestingly, Omicron does appear to give you immunity against itself, for a while at least, but more importantly immunity against previous more virulent variants.
July last year. Started with the worst headache I've ever had, ended with barely being able to breathe Wouldn't have wished that 10 days or so on anyone
Think I had it feb 2020. Lost smell and had a continuous dry cough. then tested positive this Xmas a few days after getting booster. Was a bit wiped out, v tired, had a metallic taste in mouth (as I did in feb 20), cough, headaches, but fine ish on day 6. Still got a v mild cough now. then daughter got it. Symptomless, then eldest son, again no real symptoms. Middle son stayed clear, as did wife, who tests every day for work.
Well, 4 year old has a positive LFT this morning, I've been for my PCR. Pretty much nailed on I'll have it again now no doubt...
I'm in the. Possibly and was either asymptomatic, or mild version, never lost any taste or smell but had other variations of symptoms. Cough, sore throat, flulike symptoms etc that are being reported. Or I've simply never cought it. Either way, despite numerous LFTs and one PCR being a close contact of someone else who was positive, not one test ever stated i was positive. So, in reality, I've no idea
Had it twice, both confirmed by PCR tests. First time pre vaccination in Oct 20 was bad with breathing difficulties, loss of smell/taste etc. and took me many months to recover fully. Then over Christmas i had it again but this time the symptoms were totally different. Just like a bad cold/flu with no loss of taste or smell no breathing problems at all, and it didn't feel life threatening, just something more familiar. One thing is clear it can effect everyone in different ways, but it makes me laugh when I read people saying its just like cold/ flu when it's obviously developed into a less life threatening virus because of the evolution of new strains. Also to many people the vaccinations have had a large effect in their bodies fighting it and reducing the level of illness.
I can now confirm I definitely have it now. Tested positive beginning of week. Felt weird not like owt else so took a test and bang. 2 lines. 2 days following was horrendous energy wise with a cough that made my windpipe feel like a cheese grater running down it. A wipe out. Then next day, just felt like a cold. And today, my taste and smell has gone and seems to be the only thing wrong apart from a few sniffles of a runny nose. This is so weird and nowt like I've experienced before changing so quick. Noticed as day went on things were getting funny with taste and smell until it hit nothing.. So to double check got cheese and pickle pork pie. Nothing. Ok Lager then. And it's like sipping fizzy water. At least I can rid of some not so nice whiskey later I suppose. Just took a big whiff and absolutely nothing. I can cope with all it has done so far despite the energy being stripped of me. But this no taste and no smell. For someone who loves his snap and ale, this is gunna be an absolutely shyster of a few days
Unfortunately I'm in the club now. Wife came down Christmas Day, very surprised not to have caught it then. Soon as schools started, youngest had a week and then came down with it and has now shared with me. Can't complain so far. Horrendous stiffness in neck, shoulders and back for first two days, but easily relieved by paracetamol. Bit of light headedness and 'brain fog' and occasional hot flushes but still been able to play footie in the garden and carry on with work as normal. Strangely our oldest shows no signs of coming down with it at all (hopefully not famous last words) despite the family members having it. He's declared himself immune because he's O Rh- blood group (he's been in playing on Google in other words). I know everyone's experience is different but I have no doubt I'd have been worse off without the vaccine. Unfortunately my wife's Dad is currently hospitalised needing oxygen and steroids because he "didn't want to take a vaccine that he didn't know what was in it"
