    Here's a throw away.......
Can you remember the Regal cigarette billboard advert....Reg....
    Reg on train spotting.....theres one
Reg says I only smoke them cos my names on them
    Etc

I got down to the last 2 to be the face of that campaign..believe it or not
..I went down to London on a few occasions to do different photo shoots ....relating to the advert.....never pulled as many weird and wonderful faces..lol
If I recal correctly it was paying £130.000

Close. His name is Darren Cockerill. He played ‘Beefburger Ben - a Leeds supporter - in the adverts. He was from Hemsworth I think. A Barnsley fan who used to travel with a load of lads from Hemsworth with the Cudeth Pinfold Hotel supporters.

At one away game - Colchester in 1979/80I think - the Cudeth bus was smashed up before the game by some opposition fans, They were a little upset and invaded the pitch to get to the other end where the Colchester fans were. I remember Allan Clarke trying to get them off the pitch. One of the ringleaders in the invasion was ....Beefburger Ben. Still doing adverts at that time I think. Fitzytyke was a mate of us.

    there endeth today’s history lesson.
