    He was a different breed. Worked at Wombwell foundry and died a few years ago of asbestosis/mesothelioma. Doctor was asking how he was exposed. Answer "well a cut it up wi a circular saw every day with no mask".

    Bit before my time but the backdrop is the corner of the old Kop and the (yet to be built) paddock. That little box you can see just left of centre was there in 1960 (my first game). It was used to collect money if you wanted to transfer from the kop to the paddock should it be raining. Sold programmes to IIRC. With a free "League Review" too!
