Fact is he's finished 19th and 15th in his two seasons with Oldham

No proof for obvious reasons but I'm pretty sure we would have finished above them by the end of this season.

They've been on a dismal run losing 3-0 to Leyton Orient, 2-1 at home to Crewe, 4-0 at home to Yeovil, 7-0 at MK Dons and not forgetting that 1-0 defeat at Danny Wilson's Barnsley.

As regards losing 4 or 5 players. Didn't we lose about 16 before the start of this season?

It's all pie in the sky suggestions as we don't actually know the wage bill for our own players, or that of other teams, so pure speculation for both stances.

But if our turnover was 50% more than the majority of the teams in this league (which it could easily be), then our wage bill at 75% of that turnover would be considerably larger, even without the four players mentioned.

Fact is there are only 5 points between 6th and 17th so we could finish 6th and they could finish 17th (or vice-versa.)
We'll never know where Danny's team would have finished 'cos he was sacked part way through his tenure.
