I agree, but we need to draw up better contracts when we sign players.

Key thing now is attracting a competent CEO, who can handle this & hopefully get Hecky on an improved deal, for what he has achieved & been asked to do & try & sign up Scowen & Roberts if possible.

Yes you're right, £30k profit, which included £3m injection from PC, and also saw debt increase to £4m.

That's a nice little summary report though that hopefully every fan on this board can take 2 minutes to read and understand. Highlights beautifully just where we would be without Patrick, how small our turnover is, and where we would end up if we started giving out daft wages like £15/£20k a week.

Wigan also brought in Gabriel Obertan Alex Bruce and James Weir. Hefty wages I imagine.

Your right Mario we have recieved big fees these last 2 windows near on 20million and failed to reinvest and missed out on transfer targets haven't got key players like marley and josh signed up. No one is saying blow the lot and end up skint but this window has been very poor. I don't know if the club think we are more or less safe so leave it until the next window. The summer wI'll be interesting. By the way I don't give a **** about bogle stefan payne scored more than him last season in same league.

I sincerely hope that they don't think like this. I hope we have turned a corner and are no longer thinking that just staying up is the height of our ambition because we have proven this season that we can achieve more. We'll never really know what we could have achieved had we kept our team together or even tried to strengthen but we can speculate.

I feel the same. I have a nagging feeling that we are positioned above the extent of our ambition.
If we're stuck in the belief that we 'belong' at a certain level (because of our town size, because of our typical crowd, because of neighbouring clubs) then you would not reinvest right now, because we are over performing so can probably manage even though we've sold some of our best players.
There's no real evidence that these 'rational' factors really limit the success of a club. Look at the histories of clubs like Blackpool, Burnley, Preston even Forest. They have enjoyed sustained periods where they massively outperformed those measures.

Momentum is a much bigger factor - look at what Bournemouth have done - I think we should have invested in this window to take advantage of the momentum we have enjoyed over the last 12 months.
We need to be more ambitious than we're being at the moment.

We'll soon find out, l'm tipping more goals than Bradshaw in this league from now until the end of the season. Bradshaw has also got the advantage, he's not in a team at the wrong end of the table.
