The "moaning and bitching".....
.....is coming from those regular attenders who haven't managed to persuade a season ticket holder to place them before their missus's next door neighbour's nephew.
It's fantastic that there's so much interest but the board at BFC knows that if most of them had to queue they wouldn't bother which is why, along with the fact that they've adopted the cheapest way to shift the tickets, people like Uncle Mort are being totally disregarded.
Welcome back to watching Barnsley, hope to see you one Tuesday night, but don't even think about putting regular attenders who can't get a ticket down for "bitching" about it.

RE: The "moaning and bitching"..... I dont know any members of this forum personally, therefore, no comments i make on here should be taken that way. I was not having a go at regulars who, due to a lack of though by the club, may not get a ticket. In fact I think the ticketing arrangements are shocking. My point was related to the fact that there are lots of references to people "coming out ot the woodwork", and reading some people's posts, it seems that some people think that you are either a die hard fan that goes to 40+ games a season, or you're not a fan at all! Reading the forum, it doesnt seem to be just from people that cant get tickets, there seems to be a 50-50 split between those that are happy there is an interest and wouldnt want to see just 11000 people turn up. And those that are against. Fact is it will be great if the club can use this to their advantage. In 1998, 18000 people were at Oakwell every week. Thats about 8000 the club should be looking to get get back. You wont see me at Oakwell on a Tuesday night this season, may as well be honest about it! Hull is the only midweek game, and i've lined up the leicester and charlton games instead.
Wait For The Moaning........... when we only get 25k tickets for the final. I don't think Rowing will allow four per season ticket holder then
RE: Wait For The Moaning........... no, but I bet he'll do 3 per ST, nailed on, just you wait and see. It shifts the majority of the tickets in one hit, easiest for the club, **** the fans.
Well said! I don't know if I'd even be considered a part-timer because I've only been back to Barnsley twice this year so I've only seen the Watford and Stoke matches, plus the pre-season game at Morecambe. So I don't hold much hope of getting a ticket and can't grumble if I don't. I accept that I have to miss most matches in a season so I'll accept missing this one. Even if there are plenty of tickets left on general sale, I'm not sure I'll be able to get down to buy them. But... The way some people talk on here, if you're not a regular then you're not a genuine fan at all! Ignoring the fact that we, like everyone else, spend more time thinking about the team than we do our own business, we spend way too much time turning the pages green on here each and every day, looking for transfer rumours, performance reports, any little nugget of info we can devour, we subscribe to Barnsley World and never miss a match and all this at the expense of spending time with our spouses/partners who'll no doubt tell you despairing tales of our obsessive behaviour. It grates a bit considering a good proportion of the "real supporters" who have the luxury of getting down to Oakwell regularly just sit there moaning and booing throughout the match. That's hardly fanatical behaviour is it? At least when I do get down I get behind the team! And then you have the minority of regular attendees who disgrace the club with their racist, xenophobic, abusive chants. The club are better off NOT having them in the stadium. Simply put, being fortunate enough to witness the games first hand doesn't necessarily mean membership to some perceived elite club. So if you're a regular, I hope you do get your ticket, you deserve it. But please don't call us non-regulars woodlice. We're just as fanatical as you.
Postal Tickets for the Chelsea match. I obtained that way. Can only praise the excellent service. Sent my bank details, vouchers, and enclosed recorded delivery s.a.e. in a recorded delivery envelope, and received my tickets by return of post.
