Bet the Lancashire clubs were sh*tting them selves couple of years ago when the Indians moved in to Blackburn.

14 buses, are you sure it wasn't the club trip to Cleethorpes?

Go on then. Tell me how Manchester City suddenly becoming an enormous force has affected Wigan Athletic. It hasn't made a blind bit of difference to them.

Why the pessimism? You're talking like the Premier League is a done deal - I've lost count of how many club directors have predicted Premier League football in three years - Coventry being the daftest. It's just as likely that this arab bloke will milk the club for all its worth as spend his money on it. Look at Ken Bates as a prime example. The only places the mass investments from abroad seem to have worked are Chelsea and Man City and they were already in the top flight anyway. A run-down 3rd division club who are struggling for support are not really a threat are they? Leeds under Revie didn't benefit from foreign investment, they rose from Division 2 into the top flight under his skillful guidance - a bit like we did under Wilson only we couldn't sustain it whereas they did.

Man City have shown how easy it is to get around. Use one of your companies to sponsor something at your football club for an obscene amount of cash.

Hardly a like for like example is it? The Blunts are struggling and are not going to get top drawer recruits in div 1 and if they do strengthen they are up against some good teams, it could take them years to get to even a competitive championship squad given the level of teams in it.
When Leeds at that time were drawing support from the Barnsley area the names in their team were massive, true household names and they offered a ground with 'proper'atmosphere and a team with Kudos at a time when we were struggling on and off the pitch so were bound to attract the younger end.
TBH the original post has surely got to be an attempt at a wind up or a really really bad case of parania!
