My thoughts are that vs Crawley & to some degree Sheff Utd we were playing something near Val ball. I.e. high press, chasing down & winning second balls. With Val we had 3 attacking players, who were replaced with 3 more at some stage in the second half. Would explain why we need a number of attacking options, as you cannot play that way for 90 minutes with the same players. Whether we have the right ones remains to be seen, but it is starting to look like it might be qute an exciting season, if we are going to play that way. It's all too early to say, but for me Humphrys looks like a target man, who may not score bucket loads, but can lay balls off. There is no reason the target man can't drift wide though. We used Cotter like that vs Utd most of the first half, with balls from the keeper & either running in, or laying it off for runners. A long way to go yet.
