    is it?

Didn't he look at the coca cola kid but after finding out that he would have to spend his entire seasons budget he decided ntot o persue it? Must be hard deciding which player to buy when you know that its your one and only signing you can afford for the season. Sounds a lot easier with the funding davey was given, heres a few million go out and sign as many as you want then release them a few months later for being ****

He wanted him but I heard that he found out that if he signed him then he would have used his entire seasons budget on the one player so he backed out.

    RE: is it?

Doesn't matter whether it was Kazim-Richards or the dross he kept giving trials to, he took far too long to identify his targets and even longer to make his mind up about them. Very, very indecisive.

    While Davey was very decisive

but unfortunately kept deciding to sign utter ***** and yes I know he did sign some good players, but if you sign as many as he did you're bound to get lucky once in a while

    The 'millions' you talk about...

...didn't really start to be made available until we had stayed up for the first time and guaranteed another year of Championship money. Davey kept us up mainly with loan players and one 6 figure signing out of Cryne's back pocket (Ferenczi).

compared to what the players are now worth davey spent very little. barnsley did not make much money on mcindoe or togwell. if you see barnsley has a business which thats what it is you will see that Davey has made barnsley a lot of money.

anderson: we could make a million on him if he keeps playing well
    colace: see above
jcr; we've had offers for him that would say we could make a million on him
muller: brilliant buy, he lost form that all and barnsley fans went mad
steele, good keeper and on a free
    moore, experience experience experience
    foster: 100k ? what a buy
hammill: beat comp and will be worth a lot in the future
hume: beat other champ teams to sign, wolves Sheff u from what ive heard
A gray: cant believe we got him for less than a million. charlton should ring the police because he was a steel

Davey spent £3,000,000 in 3 years. Compare that to Sean O'Driscoll at Doncaster who has spent £500,000 in 3 years and Brian Laws who's spent £300,000 in 3 years at Wednesday. The bloke had no tactial knowledge what so ever and it was wrong to sack him 3 weeks ago, he should have gone after the Plymouth game.

thats a bit wrong scott. sodje and jeffers cost more than 1.2 million. then when you had grant potter and other you will see how much they really spend. then you had the wage bill which is over 2 million above barnsley's you will see the real scale of the team at Wednesday.

not bad profit for three months work and a MOM performance against Leeds which turned out to be a six pointer

Ipswich had tried to negotiate a permanent move for Jeffers but after having two bids rejected (£250,000 and £600,000), Ipswich Chairman David Sheepshanks accused Blackburn of holding his club to ransom. Ipswich did however make a third and final bid for Jeffers but after all the wrangling between the two clubs, personal terms could not be agreed.

    [edit] Sheffield Wednesday
Jeffers joined Sheffield Wednesday on 9 August 2007 for a fee believed to be in the region of £700,000 on a three-year deal, and was given the number-9 shirt to take the place of the Scottish footballer Steve MacLean, a former fan favourite. Jeffers made his debut in an opening-day 4-1 defeat at Ipswich Town. He sustained an injury which kept him out of action for all but 20 minutes of the first month of the 2007–08 season.
