thats a very good point - a player on say £2.5k a week equates to 130k a year which in itself is like the purchase of a player

i dnt know what all the fuss is about in this thread:

ritchie - did well got us up and is appreciated by nearly every barnsley fan - the board decided to sack him to stay up - the board made the right decision
davey - with regards to his signings for me he has been acceptable, he signed some good players and some ****, lost money also and raised money - his signings weren't ever the problem really it was his naive tactics and generally letting the team stagnate to a level where we werent getting results

yeah we had that 9 months ago, that value is long gone i'm afraid. Playing him as a right back and sweeper saw to that. Likewise Howard was valued at a few million but we ended up selling for a couple of hundred grand

 

Brian Howard was never worth that much. Jcr is not a right midfielder. John barnes mark robbins and simon davey have all used him in the am role. The played right back to cover for a red card. Jcr is a ball Hungary player and if you see any of the top cm/ams on sky in the prem you will see they go where ever the ball is to get it. Rooney does the same and hes a striker. Jcr's not even fit at the movment. hes been out for 4 weeks and it will take him that long to get back to fitness. Form is temporary class is permanent. Simple

He as not been **** for the last 9 months. i was talking to a Wednesday fan recent and he told me that when hes seen jcr hes been class when hes seen him( he sometimes goes down to oakwell when wednesday are away). He also said to me that barnsley fans expect him to do a magic trick every time he got the ball. This year Jcr has been man marked out of the game which is fine is the player marking him can go for 90 mins. if he was **** other clubs wouldn't do this. Xavi has this at barca. what have they got in common. they are the 2 most important players at there clubs.

He is not half as good as you seem to think he is. Why do you think he has played inn the lower leagues all his career? Looks good until he actually has to do something with the ball, instead of fecking around with the ball.
