The spreadsheet didn't say no Mr heckingbottom deemed.him not needed anymore and didn't think he could do it in the championship. Jesus the spreadsheet can now decide weather to offer players new deals or.not now.

If Lindsay had been brought into the team with Marc Roberts at the side of him, I'd wager he'd look like a completely different player by now. And still be playing in the second tier.

Which would be fine if we hadn't waited all of three months before starting to ship out everyone who could cut it!

    Agree.
This is something I can’t understand - why was Morais continually saying I’m building confidence in the team and players - when everyone could see that week after week the confidence of the team and players was dipping.
In my view we have a very strong defence - that has had their confidence eroded over time.
Can only blame Morais for that.

    I
don't think that's exclusive to Fryer's. Majority of the team seems to want to pass for the sake of passing.

Lots of teams go from back to front very quickly, but not us. Why shoot or cross when you can deliberate and pass until the opposition have all streamed back and filled their penalty area?

I'd agree with that. He's been having to be a one man defence at times and then having to start attacks for a team with absolutely no movement. Better players around him and he'd shine out.

George Williams I always liked but I don't think would have been good enough for the championship. He was a gap filler in league one who admittedly had a good run of form but in a pretty much unbeatable team. Let's not forget his replacement was Yiadom who I think we would all agree is a far better player even though he's not been anywhere as good this season.

Main culprit for slowing down attacks is Adam Hammill. Instead of playing the ball he'll do a couple of unnecessary step overs or a couple of extra touches by which time the attack has gone.

The system the club used indicated the maximum salary the club was willing to pay vis-à-vis the potential sale value of the player, simples for most to understand really albeit ultimately costly in practice. George was good at proving people wrong and was prepared to battle but wanted a not unreasonable rise - I seem to remember Jonno thinking he couldn't do it in league 1 and binning him off only to have to eat his words.

Hecky would have liked to keep him as back up to Yiadom and White and would have paid him the relative peanuts extra he was asking. Same with Scowen who wanted to be paid the same as Alex 'fcukin Mowatt but the club's metrics said no.

And the spreadsheet can't decide weather :)

He did it yesterday. Got to the line on his left foot then dragged the ball back and passed it.

Wow the spreadsheet can now tell us how much we should be paying players. Heres me thinking it was just a form of scouting right bit of kit id love to see it. George's dad posted on here he said the club only offered George a new deal so if another club came in we would get a fee for him with him been under 25 in the end the club released him. Hecky never said he wanted to keep George.

Yeh I was going mad. Sometimes feel like your watching the Adam Hammill show. Some people berated Kent but at least there was a purpose to his dribbles and skills, Hammill has even less end product this season compared to Kents last and yet he's a hero. Baffling.

I don’t think money was the issue, the club didn’t want to keep either Williams or Smith so they offered them both the minimum contract terms where we’d still get compensation for them if they left.

The club then withdrew the contract offers & allowed them both to go as free agents with no compensation needed.

I’m not convinced Williams would’ve cut it in this league anyway. Jason McCarthy won player of the season at Walsall in league one yet has struggled at this level.

I’ve no doubt he’d have been ok as a squad player but he wouldn’t be playing for us regularly

I think you are right hecky was the head coach he had the final say he deemed George Smith and Williams not good enough for the championship. Fair enough at the time we did have james bree George Smith is he still at Northampton and Williams has just been relegated with mk dons. We can all compare player to player and say he is better than him but Williams has never kicked a ball in the championship nor has Smith. I don't know if Williams would of made it in the championship or not I liked him in the promotion season but getting rid was the head coach's choice not the spreadsheet.

To be fair I don't think Williams was anywhere near good enough for championship level, wouldn't mind seeing him return in the summer though. Think we can all say Bree and Yiadom were the better options.
