Man City scored 16 more league goals than Barcelona last year.

The commercial side will outweigh anything that they pay him to run about on the grass.

I'm interested to see if he goes, and what sort of a difference he makes should he move, but I'd not be making the effort to go see him.

He's the best footballer ever, so his fate is something I'll keep an eye on - but the level he'll be playing at (is playing at) is so far removed from what I watch that in another sense, it makes no difference which of the financially doped/glory clubs he ends up at.

2nd? Who’s better? Lewandowski? De Bruyne? Neymar? I’d still have him as number one

    Cristiano Ronaldo.

Historically I'd have said Messi over Ronaldo. But in the last 3 years, I'd say Ronaldo has surpassed him.

never liked his attitude, he always thought he was something he was not, if he got tackled he wanted a free kick and usually got it, from frightened referees

Regardless of his ability at this point it would be great to see him in the premier league, would be great for English football. The shirt sales he would sell at a big English club would cover his wages and be seen all over the world

Ronaldos surpassed him how? I'd argue the gap has widened and Messi has gone further in front of Ronaldo if anything especially this year considering Messi is part of a floundering Barcelona team and Ronaldo was striker for the runaway italian champions.

Messi = 31 goals and 26 assists in 44 games
Ronaldo = 37 goals and 7 assists in 46 games

Based on what you've said though, that to me says Barcelona just rely more on Messi than Juventus do on Ronaldo. To be honest, I watch neither regularly, other than when they're playing for their country or when I occasionally watch the champions league.

They're the two best players in the world, by a considerable margin. Who's best is an argument that has gone backwards and forwards for years, and it's something I didn't want to get dragged into. It seems to be a big thing on social media to say one person is better than another, particular with Messi and Ronaldo (I appreciate I've started it this time) and I've always been an advocate of enjoying both whilst they're still playing. We've been blessed with arguably the greatest two players of at least the last 30 years, if not longer.

Contact I know that used to be my Account Manager at BG when I worked, is a massive City
fan reckons that Lionel's representatives including his father are in Manchester discussing
the prospects of a move to the Etihad. His source is apparently " someone" who works behind
    the scenes at the Stadium.

Dave Regis could do things that Messi could never even dream about...

Although it's listed under the heading " Gossip" the Messi to City speculation seems to
be gathering momentum. Given their stature in the game it's no surprise really. A tad
surprised that Chelsea or probably PSG are not also linked as well though.?

Transfer rumours: Messi, Reguilon, Havertz, Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo, Deeney, Doherty
