I think Rahm will win it. There's some great odds on the field tho. Poulter, Westy and Mcilroy can't put 4 decent rounds together.
He's got a chance....Had I looked at the stats and the course before my first post I'd probably not have picked Rahm (for the win) as he's not great at scoring on par 4s and there's 12 of them (he's only -2 on par 4's). He's going to have to knock some birdies in on those to win. Oosthuizen was an obvious pick in hindsight. Playing well, loves links golf, previous winner, top of PGA stats in putting, great iron player. Id imagine you'd have to be within 4 shots after tomorrow's 3rd round to stand a chance? Scoring looks like it's going to be good for the last two rounds.
I’m amazed how many players miss that first fairway to the right. Paul Caseys ruined his round today before it’s even started by slicing it into the rough, I reckon 70% of golfers have gone into the rough there. It’s only when you get a hole like that do you realise how wide fairways on the pro tours must be so they can smash it off every tee despite giving it a massive slice.
Fancy Rose to rise to -7 maybe even -8 by the end of today and be in with a shout tomorrow. Overnight lead not to be on more than -13 is my prediction
The Americans are hitting some fine form ahead of the Ryder Cup. I think we’re in for another tough away trip at Whistling Straits. Much better class of golfer coming out of the US vs. recent winners as well which is nice to see (Bryson excluded of course!)
Shame I didn't put a few quid on. Was he really 30-1? The type of course certainly narrowed the field down more than it might usually do. So many par fours and the proper rough ruled many out before they'd hit a shot.
Well done , I discounted him at 30-1 as he was 176th in putting on the tour coming into the Open and it was his debut . MacIntyre brought it in for me 55-1 e/w
