Nowt. I appreciate the women’s team has got better but I don’t care about them with all respect so nothing in my eyes.

Thought I saw that Clarke and a few players were going to be in the club shop sometime this week to meet and greet fans

I think they're a great idea if they are well run and a bit of cash is chucked at it by the club. The last few have been half arsed and not worth doing, it's like most things do it right or don't bother.

    It used to be great:

first team training and a match
Could walk all around the ground and a tour
Rows of gazebos with interesting things and chance to buy really cheap training gear and pick up things from Supporters Trust
    Meet players
Lots of food and drink and music
Stage with interviews and kit launches
    Funfair

    Last few years:
    Two basic rides
    One gazebo
    Access to nothing
    Nothing to watch
    Terrible

I've not been since the year we announced Sam Togwell as a new signing on the day. Had a chat with Howard on the day, got him to sign my shirt (still got it I think).

It used to be good . But the club cut costs as like everything else they do and it became poor . The whole idea is to get new fans to Oakwell / mainly the young ones . Any chance to get new fans to Oakwell the club should be taking

We could still deliver a good day in the days of Don Rowing, and you couldn't buy a pencil at Oakwell without getting it signed off by him, was the joke I heard from staff back then. We've always cut our cloth accordingly. I think lack of planning and thought and chucking something together last minute and not getting the likes of The Trust and other fan groups involved was the ultimate failure of the open day in recent years. I'm not sure it was just about money.
Having said that, we do have other ways of getting new fans involved—some very successful ones, in fact! The flag bearer/ junior football club scheme and My Home Debut have been very good at getting new fans (and their parents) interested in Barnsley FC and buying season tickets.

Open Day used to be one of my favourite days of the year as a kid. Stage with plentiful interviews with players, freebies from sponsors, all areas being open like the changing rooms/exec boxes etc. to wander around. It doesn’t have to cost much at all.

Yes it used to be a really good day. It's suffered in recent years. It was also so popular

A food kiosk by a burger company that I'd never of before or since, selling chips for £5.50
