Given a choice between Florida and Yorkshire I'd genuinely pick Yorkshire every day of the week and for so many reasons.
Wouldn't disagree. But I don't know if I'm alone in this. I've holidayed a couple of times in Orlando. And the people I engaged with. Be it service wise or a good conversation. I found to be very polite, helpful and friendly. As for weather wise. Yes they have much more of the sun so to speak than we have. But the thunderstorms they get are unbelievable until you've experienced it. From clear blue skies one minute to short spells of thunder and lightening the next. Ones that I thought only appeared in films. Spectacular is not the half of it. .
My ex's sister lived in Orlando so we went over a couple of times. I really disliked it I'm afraid. Never saw the centre if there actually is one, just faceless shopping malls. They can hardly go outside in the summer it's so hot. The roadsides jam packed with advertising for litigation lawyers wanting to sue on your behalf. Drove for mile after mile trying to get to the sea when we were at Sawgrass and found it almost impossible because all access is through private gated communities. The staff everywhere were synthetically way too friendly and blatantly looking for a tip for doing even the tiniest thing that you hadn't asked for.... I could go on but that will do I reckon. Save to say that Yorkshire is much, much more beautiful.
I endorse that too, found then really nice and friendly and genuinely just trying to make you feel welcome. Maybe some of their good manners would be more than welcome around here.
It's all about different experiences in all honesty. Sat here overlooking sword beach Normandy, chatting to 2 Germans. 70 years ago the Allies and the Germans slaughtered each other sadly. It's nice to be nice to other people. I found Florida just like that .
