I've never known us win away at Cov either lol. There's more chance of that happening, than, err... you know what.
The prospect of us winning the title next season feels a million miles away, and so should be the expectation of it IMO. Suggesting it’s a realistic target feels like the most Wednesday thing ever. Reality is the final 3rd of the season was near relegation standard. Add to that, we now have to rebuild pretty much a brand new squad, plus a new manager. All momentum we had from the play off finals has gone. We’re starting from scratch. Again. Top 6 is a reasonable ambition, but no way am I thinking top two.
Yeah it's 'Football manager' video game type stuff isn't it, yet again!. It looks like we're having to rebuild most of the squad again, with another new coach/puppet (not manager), again!. And yet some fans still wonder why this angers us so much!.
I have found that most anger eminates from a lack of understanding of any given situation. There are good anger management solutions available.
The fact that board not even mentioned any figures on how many season tickets sold so far tells me the way below expectations as normally the can't wait to say how many sold.
If the board decide to pump in similar amounts to the owners of Ipswich and Portsmouth, the expectation would be a minimum of top 2. That is the challenge the club is up against.
No point getting genuinely angry over football, none of us can control it. There's too much pleasurable experiences to live for to put them at risk, for the detrimental effects on health that real anger can bring. Que sera
It was Thallhammer, they've balls it up and had no backup plan.Christ this club is turning into a circus.
Indeed so. And I'm sure you would be the first to point out (and I would agree with you) that such an injection of cash would not guarantee the expectations were met. The thing is though, if the bigger hitters on the Board don't wish to make such a speculation, and they have no prior connection with the club, what is the point of their involvement?
Yes but we've gone backwards in those two years Finished lower in league this season than in their first and in their first season we got to Wembley in the playoffs this season we didn't. The squad is much weaker now than it was when they took over. So I wouldn't call the last two years a success in any way shape or form.
Pure speculation but I think they bought in to Conway’s sales pitch, Football Moneyball, use data to discover talent make money trading and get out making a handsome profit. They are now saddled with an investment that hasn’t lived up to the hype and they are struggling to reset the club.
I think League One is going to be harder for us for, and we will be in it for many years to come unfortunately, as the championship morphs into premier league 2, and the money trickling down from relegated teams make L1 challenging for the likes of us with no investment we will look back on Wembley against SWFC as a sliding doors moment and possibly also the failure to back Collins in January & momentously abysmal decision to dismiss at the point we did, having not done the correct due diligence on a replacement.
Yep we are an even smaller fish in a much larger pond this season. Think we will be in league one for years to come now.
