RE: Then was then, now is now If the Club hadn't talked so much crap about why AR went then Davey might be getting a bit more patience from fans.
Erm - "that was then, this is now". Anyway - £750k benchmark. Williams in central midfield. Togwell on the bench. Togwell on the right wing. Paul Reid in central midfield. Kay in central midfield. Mattis & McCann in the engine room. Kay not in squad. Howard on the wing. We've not spent a single penny ... and we've more chance of Mattis getting in the England squad than us staying up. You must believe in God ... as your faith is utterly blind.
Back to back wins everyones optimistic. back to back defeats, everyones suicidal. blind faith or real perspective, whatever you want to call it, my opinion is that we've every chance of staying up. we'll continue to lerch from elation to crisis, maybe even right til the last game, remember we needed to beat Walsall last April....
When Ritchie took over from Hart he was the cheap option, ironic that we got beaten on Sat by a team managed by the former physio, wonder if Laws is still man of the moment or living in Sturrocks shadow, results matter, we need to start getting a few. will be all gravey Davey if we stay up.
Optimistic? Nope. Sorry - I've not been optimistic since the first day of the season. I was, however, completely amazed by how well we played for the first 20 games. I left games such as Derby away thinking that we'd been unlucky & that we'd out played a team that had spent £5m with our budget of therteh six pence. Now, on the other hand, we're losing and we're ****. Toss the coin. Go down playing good footy ... or go down being out-classed by mediocre sides like Colchester? Just off for lunch. I'll spend more on a jacket spud than we've spent nett on players. Oh - and it's a shame Walsall aren't in this league ... we might give a division 4 team a game ... owing to the fact that Davey is filling our side with basement bargain bucket spazmoids.
RE: When Ritchie took over from Hart No use saying if if if - if my uncle was a women he'd be my auntie. I'm not seeing signs of improvement on the pitch, I'm seeing a manager who is chopping and changing his centre mid because he doesn't know what his strongest partnership is when we should be looking for stability (Togwell) and creativity (Howard) not hoof it and blunder (McCann and Mattis). The team are playing scared and are losing confidence, they lack movement and the feel that they cannot beat their opponent, so the ball keeps going back to the defence or goalkeeper who boots it long. Davey has so far ruined a good side, one which had a chance of staying up, now we are struggling and unfortunately it will take a miracle to keep us up.
I seem to remember you were very vocal in wanting Ritchie out POLL: chopping and changing your midfield or chopping and changing your manager? we looked abject against Southend then won 2 on the bounce. we need to find some consistency.
The only consistent thing about this season ... ... has been the number of times Gord has made us look daft. Witblackpooltowerfighterjetsart.
RE: I seem to remember you were very vocal in wanting Ritchie out No, I wasn't one for getting rid of Ritchie, I thought it was a terrible thing, you must have me mixed up with an idiot.
Is Rajczi up to standard Jury is still out for me. hope he comes good, showed one or two decent touches but i wouldn't call his debubt a success.
RE: Opinion please D R In reference to Davey , he appears to have been appointed on his impressive use of an interactive white board, his skill at scrapbooking...sorry....dossier writing!! and his willingness to do whatever he is told by the chairman ,sadly I'm not jokeing. Shepherd should be big enough to hold his hands up and admit he's made a mistake in replacing Ritchie with someone who looks as if he'd struggle manageing the under 10's at Durkar Juniors, but I don't think that will happen. As for the solution its difficult because the current regime don't appear to want to pay for the quality of player or manager that will keep us long term in this division so all we can hope is that there are 3 other teams that are going to be worse than us.....or Dave Bassett buys the club
I'm not sure either. He looked much better when his mate Istvan came on. Istvan looked very keen. I bet he cleaned the showers & washed the kit after the game. Then drove the players home & walked their dogs. And finally made their tea & scuttled their bints. I've never seen anyone so eager to retrieve the ball for a goal kick. Were the people at the back of the Ponty fighting & loving?
I think one of the chavs may have tried to slip his erect todger in another's ear in a moment of excitement as McCann mazily dribbled past the Colchester defence and powerblasted the ball onto the crossbar. i think that happened? Agree about the other new lad, looked very keen - good to see. all my optimism has pretty much evaporated now - worse thing being that any continuity and team spirit which would have aided an instant return has pretty much gone too.
