We’ve got all the data for the lower leagues, we know the standard of teams they’re coming up against & we know the styles of football each team plays so we can send him to one that suits. It’s also much easier to send someone to watch him if needed & if he’s injured / suspended / international break he can come back to us. I’d also say after lots of U23’s football what he really needed more than anything was some proper men’s football in an English league to hopefully ready himself for a go at breaking in our first team. Slovakia just seems really random. We’ve not signed anyone from there, we don’t have any coaches from there & we don’t have any sister clubs there. Maybe we’ve got a scout or something over there that I don’t know about, who knows. The Esjberg loans for example make perfect sense. As did McGeehan, Sibbick & Thiam’s loans.
All plausible, but in a stats driven environment I'm not sure location is as critical as it once was. You make good points tho.
The coach of FC DAC already knew the player as they had previously had him on loan at Cercle Brugge when they coached there.
