doesn't even come close to proving that! we get it you rate the competition but that's your opinion not everybody elses, cheaper prices for league matches would work, if it comes to that so would just simplifying pricing and making it a fiver whenever. Either way your posts are coming across more and more sanctimonious.
It may or may not make a difference numbers wise, but it could well give an opportunity to those less able to afford regular prices. So my message to BFC is keep trying with price promotions as no doubt it gives people an opportunity to come to the game who probably otherwise couldn't come. Even if it doesn't have the desired effect on attendances.
I wish people would stop saying that, it makes a very big difference to people who haven't got much money. I moaned about the Everton price but paid it. I enjoy this price and I've paid that too. People keep assuming that the ones moaning are now not going, maybe they are and feel grateful this time. I'm not saying gratitude is great from a business standpoint but as a fan I really appreciate the sentiment once in a while.
Didn't think it was tbh! Like my post says I never expected it to be anything other than a league match crowd. The saving grace is that if it's been £10-12 I'm sure the 1-2k 'extras' mite have chalked fook on it. I'm sure if the Sheff Utd home game had been £5 in we still wouldn't have had 15k home fans in. Sad but true.
Just posting (kind of) similar myself. Sod the attendance figure, do summat nice for people as a thank you for their support.
I hope not, I would hate to think I have watched the past 23 league games only to find we went out of the L1 competition after game 1.
25k iff truth were told we didn't take that many to the Millenium Stadium and not many more if any to wembley in 2000
I thought we took 30k ish in 2000 but I think we took around 25 k to the millennium stadium. The town always comes out and supports the club when we get to finals. Or I could be wrong and we take 10k and sell rest of our allocation to the Millwall.
If 1,200 odd Reds fans could be bothered to go to Wigan last round on a pissing wet December day for the same price, I'd hope the minimum we'd be getting at Oakwell for the area final would be 10,000. Plenty of time left for people to buy, and I imagine more will buy on the gate than usual because a tenner is still sod all really.
Perhaps there are a couple of factors to consider here re pre-match ticket purchase. Firstly there are many people in this town who do not have access to the 'internet', and many that do have only a rudamentary knowledge of its machinations, and further fear of on line purhase. Secondly it is an inconvenience (minor or major dependant on circumstance) to have to visit oakwell to buy a pre match ticket. Perhaps i'm clutching at straws....
