I was born n dragged up in Thurnscoe, they don`t come much ruffer, Labour all my life but moved around the country(world) wi a military career and seen other areas perceptions, I just think Corbyn is unelectable.
Do you mean by " a fairer distribution of wealth" as giving money from someone who has worked their nuts off over many years and made a sucess of their lives to provide a decent living for their family to someone who can't be arsed to get out of bed on a morning and go to work ? Distribution of wealth my arse . Its about personal responsibility not welfare .
Pretty difficult to do that these days. Are you one of the UK millionaires? Why not put some money into BFC.
You really think the likes of Philip Greene etc have worked their nuts off and deserve everything they've got.,?
The top 1% own half of the world's wealth (Credit Suisse). That wealth is genrrational wealth too. Often acquired through unethical means at the expense of ordinary working people. Fairer distribution of wealth would benefit the vast majority of people, certainly virtually all the people you mention. And no one has an issue with people earning different amounts. It's ensuring those levels are not disproportionate. And that people's life chances aren't determined by birth. I do take issue with your inference that people on lower incomes don't work hard, and that wealth is the barometer of success.
Maybe Corbyn would be more electable if the PLP grew up,respected the vote of its members and agreed to serve in the cabinet rather than pathetically sniping from the sidelines. I'd deselect the lot of them.
What you describe is NOT Socialism. That kind of thing was started under Thatcher to mask the terrible impact and failure of her economic experiment. From each according to their ability to each according to their need. Look after those who cannot work, help those who can find work.
This. Our very own elected MP from town is spouting against corbyn at every opportunity. 3 or 4 times on twitter I have stated this directly to him. That he was elected by the people of Barnsley to represent them. The leader has been selected by its members. I questioned if he doesn't want to work under corbyn why he doesn't resign from his post. Surprisingly (or maybe not) he didn't find my question something he wanted to give time to answer. He may be good. But ignore the people who put you in as MP at your own risk. I don't have a view on corbyn either way. But the people and members speak
True socialism will probably happen shortly after we move from a resource limited society to one with unlimited resources (or as near as). If everyone could have anything they wanted, whenever they wanted it would reduce the inherent greed within us all. Unfortunately that isn't going to happen for many years in the future if ever.
Didn't Tony Blair prove once and for all that only a centrist Labour leader can win a general election. Owen Smith is the best chance of that. If people want to discuss policy without any chance of power to put those policies into action then they should vote Corbyn. Recent opinion polls reinforce that.
You're mistaken .Where have I said that people on lower incomes work less hard than anyone else ? . I'm in total support for any worker . Some people are simply jealous of anyone who works hard and makes a success of their lives . Like it or not we need wealth makers . Everyone has opportunity in life. Stop blaming the government!
Say what you want about Smith he's been canned for been sexist in his speech and hrs said nothing wrong
Apologies, I've looked back and appreciate you were talking about people working versus not working. But see Redstar's response. I do think the oft used argument about jealousy is a lazy caricature created to by those with intergenerational power and wealth to convince working people they might somehow lose out in a fairer society
