Was a similar situation at the newly named 'South' Stand...

2 seperate queue's for those wanting to pay cash.

One entrance with 'Adults - £10', one with 'Child - £5'.

So, i gets in the queue for adults, where in front of me stands Dad and son, son approx 3/4 years old. Gets to the entrance, Dads say's '1 adult, 1 child please'. Turnstile operator says 'Can't you read, this queue is for adults, children need to be in the other queue'. Dad, obviously pissed off, makes the operator aware that his child is quite young, and wouldn't want him to queue by himself. Operator advises 'Sorry, but i have no children tickets', despite being sat back to back with the bloke operating the 'Child - £5' desk.

Dad in the end pays £10 to save his lad having to go queue by himself in the child queue.

    Quite pathetic really.

Something is very wrong when children are expected to queue on their own and aren't able to go in with their parent.

    Had same thing last year

Brought my nephew as a one off. Me & my daughter had STs.
My nephew (7) was not allowed in the dame turnstile as us, and therefore was expected to queue on his own whilst we went in our gate, 15 yards away.
    Totally unacceptable.
Luckily we had friends who were willing to wait outside the ground with him til we got inside to meet him, but why make it so difficult?
