Well… that was easy wasn’t it ? Joking apart, it was an excellent victory as winning in Pakistan doesn’t happen a lot and we were 2 fast bowlers light. Who says Anderson should pack in
Incredible test match, incredible win. Honestly thought that declaration had been too early.....what do I know?!!
What a game that was! Spookily I’ve been sitting here watching the rain for the last hour but just as the finger went up it stopped and the sun is trying to break through. Time to get moving I think. One of the beaches of Lagos is only ten minutes walk so that’s where we are headed. I love being by the sea in the winter…
An insane victory. 900 runs in little over the equivalent of 4 sessions of play, and bowling around 250 overs to get the 20 wickets, with one seamer with a dodgy knee, another who's fitness has previously been questioned and the other is as old as me! Plus the lack of genuine second spinner and keeper. Superb burst from Robinson once the ball started to reverse, followed by an excellent over from Anderson. Hopefully they can both play the next test, and add Wood as an extra seamer.
Typical I had to go out and miss the end but well done England, and Pakistan for making a game of it!
Least you're now stocked up on Sensodyne now. Not Tepal Tea though as I can't see it anywhere to give it a try.
I hate they taste of Sensodyne and luckily I forgave sensitive teeth given that life's too short to have them! I'd definitely try the Tepal tea though!
You can get Tapal tea from Saveco in Bradford https://savecobradford.co.uk/products/tapal-danedar-black-tea
They worked out that on that pitch there was only one way to win. Score big and score fast, then leave a difficult but gettable total for the last innings. It didn't all go to plan and they had to improvise, but the improvisations worked. Incredible game of cricket and an amazing result.
At 400 and odd for 4. I thought it would be a draw. Then those wickets near the end of day three made the difference and opened up possibilities for England.
