    I've still got my original paper one, in the plastic "envelope thing" it came in. No sellotape required after thirty odd years.:D

    No, I've kept it in my briefcase for the last twenty odd years, with the occasional foray when we go on holiday! It has lasted very well! :D

    ...and NO, he/she doesn't have to change his/her licence for the country of residence one according to the law? However, he/she cannot be ringing up every three days for a new code. What happens with a roadside spot check by foreign plod?? Do they allow 3 days to produce the code? Do they even know? Does the DVLA even know what we are supposed to do?? Pretty sure the Carabinieri here in Italy would have no idea.
    Another ill-conceived, rushed **** up by a not-fit-for-purpose Govt department.
