I'd be happy at this if only to secure the short to medium-term future of the club, and hopefully sort out the mess with Oakwell. I don't know much about Parekh and what resources he has, but unfortunately the Crynes don't have the funds to take the club forward and allow us to compete at the top of the table(not a knock on them, not many people do have that kind of money, unfortunately). Because of that, they would need to be looking for someone with more cash to take us froward.
Pareekh has billions behind him. The ***** with PMG might have reignited that fire in James Cryne's belly lost on that train back from Crawley.
I wonder just how much cash Conway et al have put in? Continuation of the Cryne period from what I can see.
Yes, probably only one in the consortium with real money, not pretend “on paper” money but actual cash. Could buy Barnsley with the loose change from his lunch money.
Who, with more cash, is going to come in? I've seen no evidence of it. The West Stand needs redevelopment. We've all known it for years. The only realistic way it's going to get done is through player sales just like it always has been. Make no mistake, I'd like to see the current lot changed or severely chastened as some of their decisions and statements have been terrible. I'd love to see someone come in and build us a new West Stand out of their own pocket. It's not obvious to me who's likely to do it though.
We came mighty close last season with relatively little spent....... Just need the right man in the dugout with a good team around him. Stay away from Austria tho.
Aren't parekhs family Indian billionaires not saying there going to give him a load of money or that its needed but the argument that chein and conway are billionaires that can have us competing at the top half isn't true either because they have put nothing in.
Remember that in the last 3 years I've put more money into the club than Paul Conway has and so have you. In fact so has Rita the lovable Granny who bought her granddaughter a birthday card from the club shop.
No idea. I was just idly thinking out loud. We did, you're right there. I still think a big part of it was the lack of pressure from the stands, though. But as you say, a decent coach who could work around the squad's limitations was key. Would still be nice if someone would invest to help minimize those limitations, though. You might be right. I know I saw he was from a rich family, but didn't know how much he had minself.
Of course, you're right! My comment was more about the fact Patrick Cryne stated for years that he didn't have the resources to take the club forward, and the fact James Cryne was reportedly against taking the reigns from his father after he passed(which ultimately led to this shower getting their mitts on the club. That's not a knock on James. If he didn't want the hassle or expense, that's fair enough). Hopefully, like mentioned above, his motivation has returned.
Our Neerav Parekh isn't the one with billionaires in the family. The Yorkshire Post reported that it was at the time but the photos don't match. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...-need-know-about-barnsleys-new-owners-1765945 https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/a...rty-claim-from-100-years-ago-and-not-relevant https://twitter.com/neerav_parekh
