As far as I'm aware, John Dennis did not invest any of his own money into BFC. We made profits year after year back in those days and Dave Bassett will tell you that the bank balance was very healthy back in his day. We had decent transfer money in for several players in his tenure - Ward, Hignett, Redfearn, De Zeuuw etc and there were grants to be had for the stands and Academy complex which he did a good job of following up - but he didn't pay for it, the club did. The Taylor report helped us in that respect. However, as soon as the going got tough he baled out and let us go into admin out of the blue and without a whimper. It was a paltry amount that could have been raised by selling a car-park. He never even consulted the shareholders who's shares were rendered worthless by his actions. So although you can look at the stands and think that John Dennis built them, the same guy left us in our hour of need.
