Steve Cooper my first Reds hero. I can't add to what's already been said about him only he lived a few minuets away from me so that helped ! I'll never forgive Machin for letting him go.
frimpong for me, 'cos at 60, 4 stone overweight, right knee knackered, 3 fractured vertebrae, heart attack and a stent, I could watch him and still think I could make it !...................................... glav or higgy
Sam Winnall. Scores every other game, near enough. Celebrates every goal like Tardelli. That beard. The fact he gets written off weekly and always proves folk wrong. That beard. The emotion, passion and joy he shows on and off the pitch. That beard. And his 2nd goal against Walsall was one of the best in our history and will be forever replayed and replayed. Except in Hemsworth.
That was my line from South Ridng. Loved Steve I was in touch with him right up to his death. Still brings a tear to my eye.
Rodger Wylde Far to cool for skool. And into the 90's, Martin Bullock. Loved his energy, electric acceleration of course, but moreso that he was a gutsy trier. That when he got fouled he'd fly up in the air like a rag doll, bounce straight back up and have another go unlike so many others who would stop trying for fear of getting hurt.
Lol Chappell. Bit of a Harry Kane. Took the corners and throw ins I'd he could get his hands on the ball. also scored a few for us as well. Met him after his retirement when he was Manager of Bideford Town. Nice guy.
