My thoughts are with you Patrick at this time. I hope you can defy the odds and survive. I'll be honest enough to say that I've critiqued the running of the club in the past but that doesn't preclude me from having the sentiments above.
When you think about it, a Barnsley fan, saving his hometown club and then watching it flourish...amazing acheivement, amazing man. He and his family should be immensly proud. Legend...end of...
I don't know what to say. Thank you Patrick for everything you have done. My thoughts are with you and your family at this challenging time.
All of the above. Let's just win tonight and give the man a final fitting celebration at Oakwell South.
You have all articulated it better than I can. I echo your emotions. Thanks for posting Roy - sat I my hotel room I can honestly say I felt moved and humbled reading that. All the best Patrick in the time that remains.
I've not always agreed with some of the things that Patrick Cryne has said or done, but times like this emphasis how immaterial disagreements over football are and what really matters. Here's a man who's always had the clubs best interests at heart and has done what he's thought was right for the team and the town. I wish him all the best in his ongoing battle.
hes a wonderful fella and we are lucky to have been under his stewardship Legend. Keep fighting Patrick
I salute you sir and all that you have done for the club. Your name will be emblazoned in the history of the club. I do not personally know you but I feel for you and your loved ones regarding the fight against the ******* that cancer is and hope that what time you have left is as pain free as possible and you are able to enjoy time with your loved ones.
A very emotional read that which brought a tear to the eye. A man full of good intentions for our club and town deserves greater recognition. If he hasn't already, he should be made a Freeman of the borough and as suggested above, the stadium should be lit up with mobiles in the 65th minute of every home match. It's a belated chance for us to show our appreciation to a great man. That dreadful disease puts everything into perspective and we should all heed his wise words.
Saving the club when Patrick did meaning the club didn't fold means a lot to a lot of people not just with the football side of things but also family, friendships and the memories we all make spending time together at oakwell and all over the country following the team. My dad passed away suddenly in January on the day of the Leeds game and we travelled all over the country for the last twenty years supporting the Reds so without Patrick stepping in and saving the club who knows if I'd of been as close to my dad as I was and if we would have made as many memories for me to look back on with a grin on my face. Your a true hero for the people of Barnsley and supporters everywhere...
Never met the guy but feel I know him somehow and can't imagine what he and his family are going through. He could have quite easily kept on walking when our club was on its knees but cometh the hour he was there. No matter what the coming days, weeks and years to come may bring, on behalf of a humble fan of a small town football club, thank you Patrick from the bottom of my heart. Without you I very much doubt we would have experienced what we have under your guidance. Remain strong in the face of this terrible illness and always remember you're not alone.
A very emotional read for any supporter of our club, given how heavily we've relied upon Patrick Cryne for it to even still be here. Thank you, Mr Cryne.
Thankyou for everything Mr Cryne. Where would we be without you? Life is too short but its what we do in that time that matters the most. You will always leave an everlasting mark on every true red all over the world.
Owned by a Barnsley fan. Managed by a Barnsley fan. Engaging and endearing to fellow Barnsley fans. Nobody will ever make the fans feel a part of our community club like Patrick has. Proud to be part of it. #wearebarnsley
