We already have experience you don't need to be 30 years old to be experienced.

A key part of the strategy is not to let players leave for free. It seems like this season we are doing everything we can to secure players to longer contracts. I’m sure in 2016 we tried too, but I don’t know. Something seemed to happen, some miscommunication somewhere. Possibly agents getting in the way and stopping offers getting anywhere. I suspect we’ll never know, but I do know that Patrick Cryne said that Conor Hourihane was offered a contract to become the highest paid player in BFC history, yet Conor said there wasn’t a contract offer. That he would have signed following promotion if there was. I don’t know what to believe from that, I suspect the answer lies somewhere in agent ‘politics’ and red tape, though.

Anyway, the point is that in order to be a sustainable club, we can’t let players leave for free. There are a few players out of contract next summer, so I would be expecting us to either get them on longer contracts or be looking to sell them. I’m not sure what the alternative is, if we accept that the club is trying to be sustainable?

Pinnock, Lindsay, Pinnilos, Cavare (assuming we take the year extension), McGheehan, Thiam are all out of contract next summer, of the players that have featured for us prominently this year. Along with Davies and Bahre (if you can count him) of course out of contract this window.

If we take the £2 million to get current players tied down as fact, that’s almost £5,000 a week extra for each of those players. Obviously I expect it to be divvied out differently to that, some will have already been used on Cauley, for example. But it’s not an insignificant amount (would almost definitely at least double all of those players’ salaries), and I’m not sure what more the club can do.

Then we’ve got the 4 million on new players, which will hopefully be used now, to replace players that we may lose in January, to give them time with the team, or get them out on loan.

I’m optimistic. You Reds and all that.

Like I said we already have experience what do you not understand. And who said we will only be signing players with no championship experience?

Keep digging. I said at one point that I've probably watched twice as many streamed games as I've attended this season. It's typical of you to twist that to suit your own agenda.

The figures we are talking about are small in terms of the Championship in 2019. We have to hope they're sufficient for us to compete against the teams who will be our rivals next season. Other than that we are relying on the players who failed so spectacularly at this level last time.

The main problem I have with the strategy is this - let's take Liam Lindsay as a hypothetical example. He cost in the region of £350k (let's not forget the only other team in for him was Oxford) and let's say we get £6m for him. If we had ambition we would spend £2.5m on a replacement, use some for wages and stick some on the balance sheet. We could then try to develop the £2.5m player and turn him into a £12m player, and I'm sure you can see where I am going with this. However, we will just spend £350k, hope to find Lindsay Mk II and bank the rest. That's what I think would happen anyway. This will be the new regime's third window and will answer any lingering questions we may have about the direction we are heading in.

You've been asking for other people's opinions and then act like a 5 year old when you get them. You can't misquote people and try to discredit them without being called out on it.

I see your issue with it, I really do. However, I don't remember there being any evidence of money leaving the club, under Patrick's stewardship, so it must have gone somewhere within the club, The new owners (I'm as bad as the club, with a 'new app' for 2 years) have pledged to put everything back into the club, so we'll have to see.

Hopefully the additional revenue streams that have been mentioned come into place and we can get some more playing budget.

You said you want experienced championship players I just informed you we already have those mowatt alone has over 100 championship games and was player of the season at Leeds. I also asked you when has the club said they won't sign players who have championship experience? Experience doesn't come with age it comes with games played.

You keep editing your posts with sneaky little jibes long after they've been posted. I will be going to the same number of games as I do every season (for the same reasons) unless they reintroduce those stupid categories. If they do it will actually be less.

We went from 7th to 22nd, because we never followed the strategy. We never had the players in place to replace because they weren’t bought early enough.
This strategy works if you are continually looking a year ahead, like a conveyor belt.
The current owners weren’t responsible for the conveyor belt at that time.
