I would prefer the guy to never play for us again. If his head is getting messed up over the chance to join a team lower than us, with a worse ground, less history, less fans etc then he really is in no fit state to fight for our cause. Our cause needs comittment at this trying time. I no longer have faith in him to be the same.

I actually read that the first time as "I no longer have faith in him being sane", which if he's considering a move to Southend would be pretty apt in my book.

Sort what exactly?

A bid was turned down, but my point is why go on the website and have a go at southend for putting in a bid that didnt match our valuation of a player. Which is what we did with Williamson and with mattis before we offered more. Its not a case of "Some People" always wanting to have a go at the club, its a case of "Some People" not appreciating out manager shouting off about another club as if he was sat in a tap room, and to make it worse hes calling them for doing something that he has already done twice.

Personally, I applaud Southend for putting in a bid for player from the Championship and not from a lower division.

and i applaud our club for telling us about this offer , it explains why hayes was not included on saturday , something people are too quick to complain about is information flow , if this was plastered on the southend site before ours could you imagine the whinging and crying on here ??
if southend want hayes and he wants to go let them have him , to criticise southend is only doing what every other club does , publicise the offer in the hope of buying club increasing there bid ( see mattis) or to tempt anopther club to enter a bidding war.
to call hayes a championship player is undoubtably correct however hes not in form , considered lightweight by many and does not score the required number of goals that a championship player should ( he's not alone in this tho , see all our other strikers ) .

Good shout by Davey on this occasion. Make the fans aware why he was dropped (same as he did about Atkinson) and also make it known that a bid was put in for a player. Will either prompt a further increased bid or other clubs making enquiries.</p>

If Hayes isn't handling the attention / or upset that we aren't letting him go then continue to keep him out of the squad. Despite the guy having potential and no doubt some skill, he wont be missed based on current performances. No doubt if he does move on he will start to score goals and perform!</p>
