Completely agree with this and I worry may fan sights haven't recalibrated. We're a league 1 club that may have uber wealthy owners and a few quid in the bank still, but we also have a hugely bloated lopsided squad that hasn't shown obvious signs of gelling and will need to be trimmed and shaped. I'm not sure we're a particularly attractive option at the minute and any championship club that sniff around a rumoured target, we're going to be second best to. As the posts get filled though, it's interesting to see the names remaining that are still jobless.
Exactly, we are a championship/ L1 yoyo club and I don't see that changing regardless of our owners joint wealth. Those who are saying our financial clout is more than Ipswich are assuming that all prospective managers are totally motivated by financial greed, surprisingly it's not always the case, we just assume that given the circumstances of Hecky's departure. Ipswich are a top half Championship club with recentish Prem history and a lot more developed squad than ours. Main thing to their detriment is it's in the middle of nowhere!
A consortium is put together when someone either doesn't have enough money of their own for a project or they don't plan to risk much of it. We aren't going to see any of their individual wealth.
